Corona Del Mar,#2UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wed, December 10, 2008
I am a former employee and unfortunately these reports have followed me from this past job. Please do not hold this against ex-employees as we are not part of the corporation that is involved in this. Now I am getting calls at my new place of employment. Those of us that have left do not have anything to do with this company so please don't stalk us. We left for a reason, please don't haunt us. Thank you! Lauren

Yes our company has been backed up with pay. We have been very honest about the circumstances behind it and fully understand our models' stance. I was working remotely for a while after 4 members of my immediate family were in a tragic accident where one of them did not make it. Due to a hectic month of family events, which involved me being the primary caretaker to my mother and sleeping in the hospital so as not to leave my mother, and the holidays our company has fallen behind on processing payroll. (Putting out over 10,000 1099s in the month of January does not help as well). However, to be fair to all models we were processing in the order the events ran so as to be fair to every one who worked. The model above called in a very aggressive manner (as she admit to above) and was beyond unreasonable. To avoid the harrassment of our employees we paid her ahead of other models. This is not fair, and apparently she is just mean and out to prove something. We will never work with her again.

It is unfortunate this individual feels they had a negative experience with our company, but we pay all our contracted employees as per our contracts with them. As this person mentioned, we pay everyone within 90 days (sometimes much sooner), as guaranteed by our contracts, provided they have submitted all their information as required by law, including their W-9's. If we do not receive this information from our contractors, we cannot make payment since we need to report all of our payouts to the IRS. This is a legal requirement and we have to do this. In this case, this person was paid within the required timeframe, so she was most definitely not being jerked around. We simply had to wait for her W-9 to be submitted and recorded. Unfortunately, we have had to process thousands of W-9's this month due to the IRS's Jan. 31st deadline, and our HR department has been extremely busy processing all these forms. So, we definitely weren't trying to give anyone the run-around and it's never a question of us having money to pay, since we keep funds in an escrow account for our contractors outstanding pay. We just have to process all paperwork in the order it is received before we can issue checks. Unfortunately, people sometimes want to be put at the head of the line without realizing there are other people ahead of them that have to be taken care of as well.
