PROTECTIVE SMARTHEALTH - PROCTECTIVE LIFE INSURANCE ripoff Thomas Mcdornar and I talked about a supplemental health insurance he assured me that was what his company was selling, I authorized him to electronically deduct $187.99,it was not what he claimed it was and I want my money back. On Oct 10 2004 I call a number of the internet about supplemental health insurance, left my number and a mr. Thomas Mcdornar call back and I explained that I was looking for a supplemental health insurance to go with medicare. And he explain all what his company offered in that capacity and it sounded good to me. We talked almost an hr with me asking him how do I know if this was a rip off or not.
He replied that I could call better business and inquire. It sounded like everything i need and at a price I liked.$84 monthly with a mail order discount prescription drug benefits. I had to pay a one time $100 dollar fee plus my first month bill which came to 184.99 which he assured me I could get all of my money back if I wasn't satisfied.
Well I get the material and the first thing I read in this book is protective smarthealth is not insurance. It is a discount and service program provided through various third parties that sponsers newtorks of participating providers.
I was fed the wrong information and was duped and I want all of my money back. I call the company at 1-866-529-8830 and spoke to a dianne; wouldn't give me her last name and she told me she would deposit my $84 back in my account in 7 days, but the $100 was a one time non refundable charge??? Aand if I wanted to fight that I should write head office at :REVIEW BOARD, 14651 N DALLAS PARKWAY, STE 925, DALLAS TX, 75254.
