On 3/22/15 my daughter came in Providence ER and received the following:
1) An x-ray of her arm
2 )Long Arm Pre‑Cut Splint ($36.29 - AllegroMedical.com) *NO SURGERY.
Here is the billing:

It is an ER visit!! Most if not all ERs have high charges because that is what they are - Emergency Rooms ie: cost of overhead, staff, etc etc (all facilities have what is called CPU or charges that are set by the facility in the computer which is then filled in by the billing staff). And most if not all ER physicians are on call per physician agreements which they are allowed to bill for their services.
NO I do not work for this facility but I do know the way that these facilities work - you can always file an appeal with your insurance company but remember that ERs are for Emergencies ie: heart attacks, life or death situations and the likes.
There are many "doc in the box" Ers that are located all over the country in lieu of a real ER.
High charges are normal

Ok, perhaps one can deal with "normal" high charges.
Should one be expected to deal with fraudulant chargees?
