Providian National Bank ripoff refusing to honor agreements made or government orders San Francisco California
Providian's in-house collection agency called me and made an oral agreement with me to dismiss the interest, late payment fees, and overcharge fees if I made payments to them.
We agreed to a down payment of $100 and 5 payments of $150. I issued them 5 debit checks. They cashed four of them. Then they sold my account to another collector.
When I called them about the debt, they said they had no knowledge of the agreement and that I would have to pay the outstanding debt.
What is going on with Providian. They are supposed to have integrity and be trustworthy. They are neither. I have the cancelled checks where they got the money.
What company does not make written copies of agreements they make with customers? Apparently Providian does. Do not enter into any verbal agreement with Providian. They will not live up to thier end of the agreement.
On top of that, the Federal Government, in particular, the Treasury Department took Providian to court and won judgement against them. Article 25 of that judgement says that Providian has to fairly evaluate and take appropriate action to correct actual harm caused by fault of the bank.
I think this case, now it is going to be adjudicated, falls into that category. Providian does not even care about judgements leveraged against them. How nice it must be to be so smug about stuff.
