Around December 2008 into early January 2009 I was looking for a place to rent and i foun this house i was interested in. Around January 2 i contacted this company to rent a specific property of this perso. The property address is 10176 Statesboro ct, Manassas, VA 20109. Me and the realtor tried to meet up several times after i looked at the place Gary Evans gave me the rental application to fill out.
One day later i faxed the completed application over to him. The security Deposit was $1200.00 and the rent was $1200.00 I gave Mr Evans $200.00 with the understanding the rest will bw paid in Feb 2009. That $200.00 was for the security deposit after i gave him the deposit i had a really hard time meeting up with him because of his week at work and mine.
Finially January 6th came and he asked me to meet him at his office to give hime the $1200.00 towards the rent. Because i had trouble meeting him at his office i showed up at his office at 930 PM on the 6th to give him the $1200.00 for rent. I shoed up and he stated he needed time to fix the door and to fix the washer. I gave him $1200.00 right there and i signed the lease
and he give me the code to the lockbox so i can get the keys to the key out of it.
The next morning I called him to let him know that i had to go out of the country on a trip for my job. I called him really early in the morning to let him know. He said ok Fletcher you will have to call me back later and lets talk. I called hime back at around 4PM that same day and he stated he would give me a good portion of my money back. I said ok . He stated he will not keep all of my $1400.00 but he will give me a good portion of it back.
The he called me back the same day on the 6th of Jan and stated lets meet at the property address. I met him the next morning on Jan 8th 2009 and he was fixing the door changing the locks and more. He sat and stated he was very very angry with me and did not understand at all what was wrong. I told him my problem. He stated that he would give me $600.00 back and that was all. I asked for about $900.00 but he was attempting to write a check for $700.00 i said Gary give me $800.00 and he complanted about that. He sated between the 2 to 3 days that i wasted he time and he was out a full mouth's rent ehen after i signed the lease the property was still lsted for rent and the for rent sign was still in the ground after i signed the lease.
I felt like he took advantage of me. I have a disability and a slight sppch inpairment. I feel like i should have got the whole $1200.00 back and he should have kept the security deposit. I got $800.00 back at the end . Never ever trust this compant at all. I got riped off and taken advantage of.
