Pruitt''s Auto Care
Farmers Branch,#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

When we read this report at Pruitt's Auto Care, we were concerned that somehow, we had allowed something to happen, that appears to be a terrible way for us to handle our business. I have been in business for over 30 years, here in Farmers Branch. Pruitts is a long standing member of the community. In all of those years, we have never had anything close to a complaint of this level. Our committment to excellent service and fair prices continues to dominant our business practices.
The report here is a miscommunication, we feel, in what this customer understood to be parts pricing and our labor costs. When we repair someones auto, we use quality, fairly priced parts, from reputable sources. Putting cheap, potentially defective parts on our customers autos, is not acceptable for us. The parts we purchased for this repair invoice were purchased through our suppliers at the markup, they review as standard up pricing. We have no choice in what we pay to our parts suppliers. We are diligent in our efforts to get the best prices available to us. The customer's review of pricing were not obtained through our parts suppliers, so we are not clear where they were able to find a quality part so cheap. We do not make a profit on our parts, so their costs were comparable to other auto repair shops in our area, according to our research.
The labor charges quoted by this customer were for 3.5 hrs. The customer stated that without the skid plate and fuel bar, it should have taken 2.8. We were less than .6 (6 tenths of an hour)off of that time. Approximately 30 minutes. In removing a fuel pump of a Suburban, many things can happen that take 30 or 40 minutes. We can only work as fast as the vehicle will allow. If there are stubborn bolts or we are taking an extra 5 minutes to guarantee we have put everything back on correctly, 30 minutes is easily used.
We would never purposely take advantage of ANY customer, let alone a woman with children and going through the troubles this lady was experiencing. Our hope is that she will come in and let us explain her bill in a better way, so she can understand it. We also hope she will let us prove to her that we care about all of our customers and want to provide them with fair, quality auto repair. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding that would indicate we are trying to provide anything less than excellence at Pruitts Auto Care. We hope to make corrections in how we deliver information and how we handle less fortunate situations like this. We remain loyal to Farmers Branch and our friends and neighbors here.
We will continue to work hard to repair our reputation and our customer loyalty. We will also work with Ripoff report.com to resolve these pending issues and return our business to its previous stellar reputation.
