Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Let me start off by letting you know that I warned the district manager about leaving an honest, but poor assessment on any and all avenues available to me, and she scoffed, almost giggling. I really wish I didn't have to give these people any stars at all. I have been using storage facilities for more than 11 years to store inventory for my on-line business. I have always had very good luck until I decided to rent one large storage unit from Public Storage. I cannot speak for all of their locations, but I can speak for the 150 Tully road, San Jose location, their employees, and the district manager whom this location falls under her realm of responsibility. I have been there approximately 5 months, and had noticed the staff and management to be a bit rude, but no big deal, due to the infrequency of my visits, UNTIL this past Saturday, when I donated 30% of my inventory to a project to help feed our homeless. I had three or four different people from a local non-profit stop by to pick up pairs of shoes for the event, and they were threatened by management to leave their property or they would call the authorities and claim trespassing. They acted extremely confrontational, even to the point where some of the folks felt threatened by their demeanor. I contacted the customer service line, and was given the district manager's contact information for this site, called immediately, leaving a message requesting her assistance, but never received a return call. Four days later, I telephoned her again today, and after reminding her about the situation, she claimed to have pictures of me hosting what looked like a flea market in front of my unit. In her defense, I did have to move some inventory and stage it in front of my unit to get what I donated, but certainly nothing close to what she had described to me. Instead of trying to address the unprofessional behavior we experienced from the staff, she began to tell me that we broke the rules of our rental agreement by allowing people whom are not on the lease onto their property. Even though this is normal practice, as almost everyone solicits assistance to move, etc. Obviously, due to the size of Public Storage, good ole customer service is lost. They absolutely could care less if you stay or go...and the time that you are stuck there, have no problems being unprofessional with you. If you have a choice, ANY choice other than Public Storage..TAKE IT.

First of all you come off like you think you are a good person or something as you are helping "our homeless". Are you trying to make yourself look good for the readers of these posts so we either feel sorry for you, or will be on your side?

You report you had 3 or 4 people go pick up a pair of shoes for the event, why does it take that many people to get a pair of shoes? What event are you taking about? That is a violation of your rental agreement they can not be there. So you are in the wrong and violating your agreement. The staff had every right to get upset over your entitled actions. You don't make the rules when you enter into an agreement. also what does "stage some inventory in front of my unit" mean? This all makes little sense.

Quit trying to make yourself look good because you are donating some trash from a storage unit, but don't feel you have to follow their rules.

A couple of pairs of shoes, try 30% of my entire inventory!!! this equates to 368 pairs of shoes ranging in former retail values of between 89.00 - 388.00 per pair. You people are extremely unprofessional, rude and unintelligant (being overly kind). I am sorry you have simple meaningless jobs, and feel you need to over inforce any and all rules to make you feel empowered...its pathetic, really. Obviously there are issues with your location, where desperate people have been forced to take advantage of some of your units...this does not provide you the rights to treat everyone like crap. I pay a premium price for a dirty unit, on a dirty facility, with security gates that do not operate most of the time. You have inconvenient hours, your so called ammenities are either out of service, or locked. Public Storage is not only a ripp-off, but the district manager Frahvnia (SP?) and all of the employees at this location at 150 Tully Road are rude...completely incompitent..and extremely unprofessional. I will continue to use EVERY avenue available to me as a consumer, to continueously warn fellow consumers about your unethical behaviors.
