Puritans Pride which is a company of NBTY sells old products to International buyers. They do several dirty things. one thing they do is that they hide the original date of expiry printed with a line of white paint which goes one end to the other of the label and print a new expire date over it. When you have a closer look in an angle to a light you can seen there is a distinctive contrast between the white color of the original label and the white color line that hides the actual date. Also if you just rub the two surfaces you can notice a difference in texture as well. A label that is not altered doesnt have these flaws. The lable does not mention the manufature date but only the expire date. However you can see a year mentioned under 'Carefully manufatured by' and I think this must be the manufacture year.  In one product Zinc Gluconate 50 mg 100 tabs that I ordered had this alteration and the expire date was  04/2013 and the year mentioned under 'Carefully manufactured by' is 2007. I am amazed that Zinc gluconate has such a long life of 6 years. The other two products Ferrous Gluconate 28mg 100 tabs and Magnesium 250mg 100 tabs did not have such obvious alterations but The years mentioned under 'Carefully manufactured by' for Ferrous Gluconate and Magnesium was 2009 and 2008 and the expire dates were 10/2013 and 8/2013 respectively. I cant believe these products can be for  4 or 5 years without preservatives. A supplement should not be for more that 3 years otherwise its not going to be effective. I have tried these and I didnt sense any effect that there should be when taking them in such doses. I can tell this because I have used a local product for a while and I can know how its like taking 50mg of zinc within 30 minutes. International buyer be aware dont take claims like quality potency gauranteed from a company which is based in a country that does not regulate supplements by the state and allow self regulation for quality and potency. I dont recommend buying from them.  They may sell you old products look for these clues and be aware.

The following are numbers and codes mentioned on labels of the products that I recieved

Ferrous Gluconate 28mg 100 tab
Item No 1200
Barcode 0 74312 11200 3
Other code 315407-01 EXP 10/13

I am a cynic and with good reasons of late. The world is changing and in America, to a great extreme. The large corporations have gained control and are savagely ransacking the common people. This being said I do not like to give any of these criminals my money. Puritan's Pride is a discount supplement store and a component of a larger company. So do your research and use intelligence. Then in the end, rely upon your instincts, which comes from the heart and not the mind. As for the expedition dates, cheap perishable goods will always be discounted proportionally to the expiration date coming to pass. And as for buy one get more free, don't be gullible and do the math. Nothing new here folks. NOW FOR THE COVER UP: I just received a few things from them and took a hard look at the expectation strip. It does look and feel different from the rest of the label. Why? I worked in a print shop and we print the whole label first and leave a spot for companies to print their own ever changing info. It needs to be able to accept their printing apparatus. But here is a no brainer to the glum chum with the paranoia. The bottle was a translucent blue, like old Coldplay glass from a long time ago. I dumped the pills out and looked through the bottle up against the sunlight and could see right through the label and top printing too. No hidden date there. On just my bottle, maybe since the manufacturing date was recent. One does have to feel trust from a company with products as such and FDA now seems to mean just the opposite of safe so use your minds folks. Thanks.

You should be ashamed of yourself to make such a false claim! Shame on you. They've been in business for 50 years and put their products through rigorous testing. No company on earth would cross out expiration dates, esp a company of their size and reputation. Your claim is baseless and if it wasn't so misleading it would be comical. Shame on you.
