Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We hired Quick Move Inc to move us back from Atlanta, Georgia to Las Vegas,Nevada because we were using the services of Coast to Coast Real Estate Company (please see my report on them and do NOT hire this company for your real estate needs! Their website is CoastToCoastLasVegas.com. Both companies are owned in part by Jeff Stelter of Utah.

While we were visiting his parents, my husband accepted a positon with a company in Las Vegas at the end of September of 2005. We saw an ad in "The Real Estate Book" regarding Coast to Coast Real Estate and Amy Dubois. Their Ad states"Amy will move you across Town... or Across the Country... Free!" and "When Amy DuBois handles the listing of your home, or the purchase of your new home she will move you, across town, or anywhere in the continental United States at no additional cost!" We asked her what restrictions applied and how did it work.

As we had already sold our home back East and had our things in storage our move would be pretty simple. Or so we thought. We had already contacted a moving company (the one who had moved us our of our house) when we decided to use Coast to Coast and Quick Move.

We supplied them with an inventory of what needed to be moved through email, as Quick Moves request. The original truck broke down so they sent a freight truck. This truck was not for moving homes. The Movers they hired in Cumming showed up and started moving items out of the upstairs of the home we were staying in. Almost all of our things were in storage, we had clothes, computers, and toys at this location.

We were instructed to move our things out of the storage units and onto a rental truck to be unloaded if the 53 foot truck wouldn't be able to turn around. Some of the things we repackaged for the next move. So we had a "mountain of boxex" in one room. I only needed to repack 10 more boxes when the movers arrived.

The movers took 2 hours to unpack most of the rental truck... and 4 hours to finish unpacking it. They started the house and finished the house at two hours later. However, the movers had forgotten to pick up the ramp for the freight truck (something extra we paid for)... so they needed to "borrow" the truck we had rented to unload the house and take it to the 53 Freight truck at the end of the driveway.

At 7 pm they said they needed to spend the night in town and unload the rental truck that night because they would need to go to our other storage location to load at 6:30 am. Instead they take the rental truck to a smaller town 40 minutes away and 120 miles round trip! They did not have our permission to move the truck to anywhere but the hotel in town to unload and reload to the Freight Truck.

The next day the truck did not show up. Also, we are informed Quick Move will not unload the storage area because it is an "attic" which it was not. It was an unused walk up with finished walls and etc. area of a business for future offices. They never mentioned they could not do this until Quick Move had half the truck loaded AND complaining they couldn't pay the guys there for the work.

They informed us they would not pay for the extra day of use of the truck or the men running off with it... nevermind Quick Move was borrowing it from us AND we had paid for something they did not use.

When our things arrived in Las Vegas their was obvious intentional damage to our baby's crib. The poles and rails were broken. Old antique wicker furniture. We had bought insurance, but were told they would "fix it themselves" first.... as our things are still in storage we do not know what else is broken at this time.

DO NOT use Quick Move if you value your things! Do Not Use Coast to Coast Real Estate if you are moving to Las Vegas! We have had trouble with being able to purchase a home through them AND told we would not be receiving our $5000 back we paid to Quick Move because we were not under contract with a home at the time of the move... which was NOT in their literature or told to us at any time until 6 weeks later.

SO steer clear of both of these companies unless you wish to be ripped off!

I would like to respond to complaint filed against my company. We are a real estate company that offers free moving services to our clients who buy or sell a home through anyone of our agents. As you can imagine with the price of fuel what it is and the pain of having to move, its a pretty good incentive to use one of our agents on your next home purchase. That being said, every once in awhile there are people who try to take advantage of our services. We have a written policy that explains in great detail if someone needs to move BEFORE they purchase a home from us they can. They have to pay us a $5,000 deposit up front, refunded to them at their closing. The Chadwells contacted us and explained that they would like a free move from Atlanta, GA to Las Vegas, NV. They told us they were interested in buying a home out there and could they qualify for a "free move". We told them of course. They paid the $5000 and we moved a full semi, 22000 pounds from Atlanta, GA to Las Vegas, NV. (a very good deal by any moving company standards) Once we moved them to town, one of our agents began to show them homes. They refused to produce a letter from a lending institution stating they qualified to even purchase one. (Which is a necessity for any legitimate offer on a house) Our agent showed them 109 homes. After showing them that many homes, the chadwells came into the office and told me that our agent could not find them the home they wanted and they needed to get their move money back. I told them the refund on the move money was only if they used one of our agents to purchase the home. They then threatened to smear our company all over the internet if we didnt give them their money back. Which we did not, but they did. You can scour the internet and only find one of these complaints, this one. Our company has opened 14 offices in 7 states. We have moved thousands of customers completely free. I hope this sheds sufficient light on this situation. For more information you are welcome to contact me at [email protected].
