Quicken Loans --- Rock Financial they did not refund my deposit after THEY changed the rules Livonia Michigan
my father died, my mother is in a nursing home, semi-lucid. i am her and dads "attorney-in-fact". this means that legally i am them in all respects and can buy and sell, sign all papers, etc for them.
in an effort to keep mom in the nursing home, i wanted to put a mortgage on her house (in my name also). i told quicken everything possible about this situation up front. nothing hidden or left out.
i have done business with quicken 3 times in the past. so they know who i am and where i live.
everything went fine until less than 24 hrs before closing, they wanted to speak to my mother (felt like a kind again). i went thru the same info, she is in a nursing home, semi-lucid and that she rarely answers the telephone. reminded them that i am the attorney in fact. then they wanted to talk to an aunt, uncle, cousin, --even wanted them to co-sign.
threatened not to give the loan. told them no problem, send back my money and no regrets, even asked them to look at refinacing my own home. no problem, they would get right on it.
no notice, had to look it up on my credit card statement. they still charged me for $371 of their expenses.
if i had hidden any details, even one, i could understand, but they changed everything at litterally the very last minute. they wouldnt budge.
by this time a couple of months had gone by, i had gotten a loan from Bank of America in approx 4 weeks. the same home, same situation but they acted professionally andd were quite helpful. they only ask for $200 deposit.
now quicken says they want to loan me the money. they still need to talk to my mother. told them no need, i had already gotten the check from doing business with bank of america. no reply
even if they changed their mind and did not want to do business, that is their choice, but dont charge me for them changing their mind.
lastly, their attitudes, treatment of me are terrible. so far the only satisfaction i have is telling one person off, by telling everyone i see the facts of my case and not to do business with quicken. i have done this in 15 states (i travel by motorcycle). and this works. i talked to 5 families that were having exactly the same family problems, and needed to finance a home. they are not going to contact quicken.

still no go with quicken. they are still threatening Retaliation for me spreading the word. but i dont worry because i can prove all of my facts. i advise no one to deal with them. period. i have filed complaints against them in florida and michigan and minnesota. all the answers so far are that they need to see a pattern of ripoffs by quicken and then they can take action i ask that all of you file complaints against them. maybe we can all win against them. likewise i think we should start a class action suit against them. i can guess that there are thousands of pissed off customers out there.
