I wanted to add my personal experience and a friend's to all those who are thinking of making the big mistake of joining Quixtar.

By now, everyone pretty much knows the pitfalls of joining this scam. I was approached a couple of years ago at a Barnes and Noble by some guy and his wife. They both looked like they were trying to dress up and look flashy, but looked like crap. They were pretending to look at magazines about real estate to buy and yachts blah blah blah. I was in school and just getting a cup of coffee reading some magazines, I guess I looked young and impressionable.

This is exactly what these chickenhawks look for.. thats what they are chickenhawks by the way. Somehow they initiated a conversation with me about their "business." I think its sad and wrong they recruit kids at malls/bookstores. They told me how they are building a new house and their new yacht would be built by the summertime. I pretended to be interested and never called the guy.

Last year a buddy of mine got sucked in, and asked me if I wanted to attend a business meeting at the Marriot hotel. I knew what this scam was, so I agreed to go, so that I could point out to him the BS this really was. Well, they gave the same song and dance about how its like owning the McDonalds corp, how you're selling the service that gives access to all of these products, blah blah blah. Yeah great comparison except for the fact that the vast majority of people buying Quixtar products are the IBO's themselves.

A funny thing happened, I met the same couple at this meeting that I saw a couple years ago at Barnes and Noble. They didn't recognize me and told me once again about their yacht that would be ready by the summertime. Hmmm.. they said the same thing two years ago. I was supportive of my friend wanting to be ambitious and make something of himself, but I told him he shouldn't do it. Well, he did for a couple months just to give it a try. He almost lost his apartment and was gone day and night at these meetings.

Quixtar claims you get more free time in the end and if you aren't making money then you're lazy. I can tell you my friend worked horrible hours without receiving crap in return. Anyway, he got out, we both have graduated college and work well paying marketing jobs.

This company is built on the people at the top making all the money off of the little people going to their meetings and buying their propaganda. Go to school instead, earn a degree, and become a real part of society.

I can't even believe that this company is currently advertising on TV. These fools are doing a lot more damage than possible. Somebody needs to get started by taking this matter to the local authorities before these idiots rip off millions of dollars. Most recently a small business here got sued by the state of the south carolina for deceptive advertising. The business is 'joe gibson suzuki'. The lawsuit was huge and the company is facing bankruptcy and jail time. The jail time if convicted each business leader could face upto 5 years or more and have community service. Also if you take a look at the FTC, you should see that quixtar also has a lot of lawsuits. I need people here in South Carolina to help me work out this matter so that local authorities know what is happening.

The worse happened to me. I was close to joining the company. I was sucked up into joining the company but I never decided to join. Basically it was by my friend who got into it at first and then my friend decided to make it sound like the business is great and so on. I was listening and I knew a lot about such businesses. They do not have any quality products and most of their products are priced real too high than the normal. None of them know anything about writing a business plan or who their specific customer is and so on. My friend even told me that his mentor made 15000 a month before he became a real mentor which was not true due to the fact that the mentor has been working for a long time. Also my friend was duped by a ring that the business people said was 20,000 which not many of the people received. My dear friends, please pass the complaints not here but to the FBI, the police and even your state representative. They need to be advised about this scam immediately before more people get kicked in.

Quixtar is the new name for AMWAY. Amway had already suckered everyone they could, so they simply changed the name to try and sucker some new fools into their MML garbage. NO ONE makes money in this scam ( except the owners, that is ). STAY AWAY !!!!!

It's sad when so many people blame Quixtar for having a bad experience with starting their business. You wouldn't blame the NFL if one player or team did drugs would you? If you would, you have other issues. My point is, I've rarely if ever heard anyone have an honest complaint about Quixtar or their products. Every starts out blaming Quixtar for their bad experience, but after reading their story, it always comes back to their sponsors / upline / team they join up under. There are alot of bad teams out there giving "Quixtar" a bad rep, and it's not fair to the rest of us. I signed up under LTD as well a while back, I listened to everything, and did everything, and got into alot of debt too. Instead of quitting and calling Quixtar a bad company I just decided that I've spent enough, and I wasn't going to waste more money if I'm not getting results. I stopped going to all the meetings, ect. But I still loved the products, so I bought what I needed every month, 100 points or not.. I just bought what I needed. My upline stopped calling, I didn't care and I didn't feel bad about it. But I can understand if it was someone you knew from your past. And I've heard so many stories about sponsors helping you in the beginning, but if you didn't do everything right they just shun you. Last time I checked IBO stood for "INDEPENDANT BUSINESS OWNER". Now granted not everyone can know how to run a business on their own right from the start. I spent 5 years reading leadership / self help books. (on my own, not because of my upline). And now I work from home full time, and am having much more success with my Quixtar based business. I'm not wasting money with meetings, CD's ect. And when I get people started and work with them, I've learned from the mistakes of all these other 'bad teams' out there, and I help out my people without expecting them to buy into all of that stuff. People are out there by the thousands looking for ways to make money without having to go into debt, and I'd love to help them, without causing them to buy into all the "extras" that are "needed" to build a business. Well I'm about done for now, I hope you read this and I don't know if I can leave my personal info on here but feel free to call or write me, I'd more than willing to talk and answer any questions. I'm not here to convince you to get signed up with me either. Just hope this helps or at least helps anyone else out there that's looking to get started with any business. Not only should you do research into the company you're looking at getting involved in, but look into the team (upline) as well. Even if it's your best friend from grade school. I just hate to see all these people get a bad taste in their mouth about making money with a business opportunity just because of a bad sponsor / team. There are so many great / legit companies out there to get involved with, but at the same time there are alot of bad teams promoting those companies too. Thanks for listening, Jason

Thank you for sharing your personal experience about Quixtar. I am reading every post that I can on this site along with gathering every bit of info possible so that I can make my girlfriend see that this company is nothing more than a big scam & that she will not obtain the wealth that they have promised her. She & her husband have already spent so much money on meetings, books, tapes, function tickets, rallies, hotel rooms, bus tickets, products etc., etc & that's before thay have even made any money at all from this so called business. They work very hard at it & attend all of the meetings & functions they're told to & buy all of the motivational crap that they're told they will need in order to succeed in this business. They have tried to get me involved which is what prompted me to research this site about Quixtar. You hit the nail on the head when you said that Quixtar recruiters call you "lazy" if you haven't made tons of money through the business! When in fact, this farce of a dream that they profess you will have along with financial freedom, just can not be achieved through buying Quixtars overpriced products. The top dogs in this business are profitting from all of the motivational B.S. certainly not the products that Quixtar sells. You're fortunate to have seen through the couple that tried to dupe you. Others haven't been that smart & have lost lots of money. Thanks for your story.

Excellent summation, Bobby. The "our yacht will be ready by summertime" made my day. It's great when you can catch these bastards in bold-faced lies. The sad thing is, however, that this couple with the imaginary yacht was probably losing money left and right in this scam, but keep on chasing that dream nonetheless. It's hard to fault the perpetuators of pyramid schemes when you realize that THEY are usually the biggest victims.
