TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN.

IN OCT 2000. I HAD GOTTEN A NEW QWEST RESIDENTIAL LINE AND EVERYTHING WAS GOING FINE UNTIL SOME GIRL CALLED ABOUT THE CUSTOM CHOICE PACKAGE. I JOINED AND WAS BILLED REDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY. I PAID EVERYTHING AND KEPT IT CURRENT THEN I CALLED TO LET MY HOME # GO AFTER I STARTED MY 2ND JOB AND NOT AT HOME ALOT.

AFTER THAT, I THEN HAD MY CRICKET CELL PHONE RE-ACTIVATED. I CALLED QWEST AND HAD MY SERVICE SHUT OFF. I HAD PAID ALL OF MY BILLS WITH THEM AND MADE SURE I HAD A 00.00 BALANCE. NOW AT MY NEW RESIDENCE THEY ARE SENDING ME A COLLECTION BILL STATING I OWE THEM ANOTHER 96.00 THAT I KNOW I DON'T OWE THEM! HERE IS MY PROBLEM, I DO NOT HAVE ANY BILLINGS THAT THEY SENT ME FROM BACK THEN. I HAVE MY OLD PHONE # THOUGH THAT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED FOR A WHILE.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE OVER THE INTERNET MY OLD BILLING AND WHY THEY SAY I OWE THEM $96.29 TO BE EXACT. I FEEL I DO NOT OWE THIS BILL AND WOULD LIKE TO SET THIS ACCOUNT # 5209030028781 STRAIGHT. I FEEL QWEST HAS WRONGFULLY BILLED ME AND WOULD LIKE TO GET DOWN TO THE TRUTH, THAT I LEFT MY FINAL BILL PAID AND OWE THEM NOTHING. HOW COULD I FIND THIS OUT?

I AM CONSIDERING JOING QWEST AGAIN, DUE TO IT BEING THE ONLY RESIDENTIAL PHONE SERVICE WE HAVE HERE IN TUCSON, I WOULD HAVE TO REJOIN BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO GET INTERNET AT MY HOME AND I HAVE TO GET THIS STRAIGHTENED OUT SO I CAN DO THIS. BUT I REFUSE TO PAY WHAT I FEEL I DO NOT OWE.

SINCERELY A CONCERNED X-CUSTOMER,

SHERRY MYERS/HAWKINS.

I think you can work this out.

They should have mailed you a copy a long time ago. I don't mean what you already have, but an archived record of that transaction as proof. It could have been that you were on a delayed type of billing cycle, and that money was left over, after you thought the balance was clear. Even so, they need to explain their billing cycle to rule this out as a possibility. You also need to provide proof of payment. Now I understand, you've moved and some time has gone by. What was your payment method? If it was personal checks, call the bank that you had an account with, at the time. Have them mail you an archive copy of your checking account records for the specific time frame. This might cost you some money. If it were by credit card, no problem, they'll mail any kind of information like that, possibly for free. It looks like this is something you can work out with them. If you plan on returning as a customer, you don't want to burn your bridges. Delayed billing happens all the time. We only have 12 other Reports on Qwest Communications.
