Qwest wireless services a joke!!! Deactivation fee DOUBLED because we had two phones with them
Qwest wireless services are a big joke! We decided in January of this year that we would purchase a shared plan consisting of two cell phones for my husband and me. We did this because he works about 35 miles from home and this would give me a sense of security that I could call him anytime and pay just one fee per month to have as much contact as I wanted with him during the day without having to use his company phones. During this time his work got slow and money was short so we decided to deactivate our phones. In the Qwest contract it states that "there is a $100 deactivation fee for early deactivation (it's a one-year contract)." However, they are charging us DOUBLE that to disconnect. So instead of $100 it's $200 to do this. Nowhere in their contract does it state that there's a $100 charge for each phone you have activated with them. I wonder what's going on here! To add insult to injury, every time we got a bill from them there were added charges we never consented to and other charges such as "roaming" time. We NEVER had our phones on roam. There was no reason for that. Every time we received a bill we would check both phones and low and behold, the roaming was OFF every time. We disputed these every time with them. They would add equipment charges we never even had or received or knew about. The added fees made our bill over $100 monthly when the service plan was only $39.95 a month. The phones were paid for at first! Who do they think they are kidding??? I am no dummy when it comes to billing. I did that for ten years of my life before becoming a mother. All in all, I am going to dispute the second $100 charge with them. If I can't make any headway then here I come, Ed to ask advice and get your help. They are threatening our credit if we do not pay this by a certain date.
