RAC has some seriously shady practices for collections. A man by the name of Ivens called me about 20 times a day to let me know he would be picking up the TV I was renting. Never once did he call and ask for a payment. I rented the TV for almost a year and never missed a payment. This guy came an knocked on my door and when I called the store to make the payment became so upset and throw "we missed you" tags all over my lawn! I called hte store and one of the other epresentatives came out and picked up the tags. He then called my house at 8:15 at night and when I told him it was not a good time he came to house!

He arrived at my door at 8:50 PM, stood outside of my home and stated yelled that we needed to let him get the TV because we could not afford it. My neighbors came out to find out what was going on. My ten year old was so afraid, that he started

screaming, "Mommy, I am scared!" I finally snuck out the back door packed my 3 children in the car and went to get them some ice cream. The man and a fellow companion sat on my steps until after 9:00! I owed $80.

When I called the store to complain for the 2nd time I was given the run around that there is no one to complain to and given an 800#. I called hte number and a woman who could have cared less stated she would have a manager call me. I am still waiting for the call. I finally called the store and asked that they come pick the TV up, after all I could only take so much harrassment.

When I rented the TV the salesman stated I could pay once a month if I chose to, which I had done in the past. I spoke to an extrememly nice man named Roger who stated that he would come pick the TV up personally and apologized profusely for what had happened he could not understand it! I later came to find out that he was the same man that picked up the tags sprawled all over my lawn. Well now I am still trying to file a complaint and no one will give me a number an de-mail address or anything else. I feel it was all a scam to get my money and now that I am close to owning it, they take it back to start a new contract with a new victim! I also feel like RAC hires the pick of the litter from the local Jail to represent there company.

It must be how they train their employees...

The same thing happened to me with our local RAC, they left about 50 door tags that said Sorry we missed you on my front door at one time, and then one time I was on my way home from picking my kids up and passed their truck on a busy road next to my house and they did this U-turn to follow me so I took them on a wild goose chase , they finally turned around. So it sounds like common practice with this company, I would never go there again, I have had much more pleasant experiences with other rental companies.

any other person that works for the company will tell you the same thing. if your account goes over 7 days, it's automatically flagged for return. it's policy. you signed a contract. you could be the best customer in the world. but if you don't maintain contact with them then they have no choice but to pursue getting the tv back. Now, i don't agree with the methods taken, but you WERE 14 days past due. and in the eyes of a store that is trying to hit number after number after number, you're in the wrong. did you call the store? explain why you were late? anything?
