Ramada Plaza Resort - Imperial Majesty Cruise Vacation ripoff--UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON MY CREDIT CARD Fort Lauderdale Florida
After receiving an offer in the mail, I called to inquire about a "free" cruise. It sounded interesting, and I agreed to view a video about the trip. I used a DEBIT card because they insisted a credit card had to be used. I told them there wasn't enough $$ in the account for the trip. They assured me it wouldn't be used--just needed it for the video to be sent.
After we hung up, we checked the Better Business Bureau, and found them to have extremely negative reports. I immediatly emailed them the following morning, (july 20, 2004) after finding that they not only tried to charge the entire trip, but then tried to charge progressively smaller amounts once finding the larger amounts were declined. In the email I told them we were not interested, and demanded that they not attempt to use our card again.
This morning, I found that once again, they have attempted to charge our Debit card. I tried to email them, but the email was returned 'undeliverable'
Lesson learned:
1. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
2. Never EVER give your credit card # over the phone.
3. ALWAYS check with the BBB before agreeing to anything.
