Ramada Plaza Resorts - O.F.V. Ripoff Vacation Packages Too Good To Be True! I was Lied to Twice! Time-share Scam! $600 later no vacation, and they wanted $60 extension plus $499 more for second traveler Fort Lauderdale Florida
A sales lady that was soliciting these vacation packages at my work sold me on a trip that sounded too good to be true. $99 for 3 days and 2 nights in Orlando, FL; hotel and 2 tickets to Universal studios included. After calling the 1-800 number, I was told that the $99 was a down payment for a vacation package that would cost me another $700 plus a trip to Las Vagas and Puerto Vallarta, Mex. Plus a trip to the bahamas (but I'd have to pay $160 extra per person more).
I was Outraged, I told them, I'm a student I don't have that kind of money. So they gave me a $200 discount off each ticket, but I had to pay the $499 right there and then. After realizing how much money I had put down, and how I had been lied to the first time, I called back; sometimes having to wait 10 mins to talk to a live person, everytime I talked to someone they told me something different.
The last time I called, I was told I needed to extend my trip otherwise I would lose the money I had spent so far (about $600 total); it would cost me $59 for a 6 mo. extention after one year earlier they had told $29 for up to 60 mo. (Again too good to be true). After being transfered a bunch of times, I asked them since I was lied to twice, if they could just extend my trip for free or if they could go ahead and send me the tickets, but they said it was too late and the Only option I had to to extend and that I would still have to pay for the second ticket.$600 later I learned my lesson.
