I hope someone can help me in this situation. I received an invitation today to try out Ramada Plaza Resort through the mail. I read all the fine print and it seemed like a great deal, all I had to do was take a tour of some resort. It sounded simple enough. I was offered a cruise (Carnival) to the Bahamas leaving from Ft. Lauderdale and once coming back I would go to Orlando for a few days.

In addition, I was offered two bonus trips to 1) Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and 2)Las Vegas, NV. All trips are supposedly valued at $3,000 but all I would have to pay is $698. I was so excited with the promotion that I called in.

I gave them all my information and they charged me for the $698. I wish I had my computer next to me at the time so that I can look it up but unfortunately I didn't. I didn't know that it was non-refundable until I read the complaints on this website (my cell phone kept breaking up and I guess I missed that unless it was not mentioned)

I searched online and found only 2 good comments on the resort to all the 32 complaints (and counting). I called my credit card company thinking I can cancel it since I just charged it today but they told me that I need a merchant ID. I suspect that I will have a lot of trouble from this company in getting that.

I am a 20yr college student and I just wanted this trip as a gift to myself after I graduate this December. I was trying to get a memorable vacation before going to medical school. However, I am not confident that I will get such a vacation and frankly I don't have the money to pay for all of this. I still need to pay for my Kaplan classes. In addition I was told by my credit card company to try to get the merchant ID with in four days or else if the transaction goes through, my credit card balance will be beyond the limit.

Please help me if you can. I am very confused as to what to do. I read some of the comments but I'm not sure how to start off the process of getting my refund of the $698 charged to my credit cared and to prevent them from charging me anymore.
