Ramada Plaza Resort - Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations Still waiting for refund Ft. Lauderdale Florida
I received mail saying i have won a free cruise for 2 days or a vacation with up to $1300 like most of these complaints are about. I'm usually not one to fall for things like this but i decided to give them a call to see what it was all about. I talked to a guy named Frank for longer than i have talked to anyone in a long time on the phone. After seeing what it was all about and him trying to persuade me into getting the 8 days 7 nights for 989$ i still said no. He connected me to George who was going to set it all up for me and George asked me why i didnt want the 8 days. I said i just didnt want to pay that much and would rather take the 2 free cruise days (ive never been on a cruise). He talked about how tired i would be the day coming to flordia and after the cruise and i should really do the 8 days and i still said no.
George then told me he would knock off 200 $ and give me all my food for free and even an ocean view. well this sounded really nice. I was very skeptical about giving out my debit card info but finally gave in after we talked out a payment plan.
After being on hold and a long conversation (more on there part) it was all set and i was off the phone. (i called oct 20)
A few minuets later i called costumer service and asked if it was refundable (just out of curiosity) . The man told me of course and that i had the right to cancel. I called my mother after and told her i wanted to take her on this vacation and she told me to make sure i looked it up to make sure it wasn't a scam... low and behold i come across this wonderful site.
Suddenly fear and humility sunk in. I read numerous stories on not to do this and to cancel and be firm about it on getting all my money back. so i called back right away and they told me i had to wait 24 hours for it to process into their system.
I called exactly 24 hours later and was asked why i wanted to cancel and it was such a great opportunity. I said i just changed my mind and didn't have the funds. She told me it was a non refundable vacation and i told her that i had just talked to someone and they told me it was. she seemed to have no idea why someone would tell me that or why it would take 24 hours to be in the system. I kept telling her i had the right to my money back and thats exactly what i wanted. I told her i wanted to speak to her supervisor so she got him on the phone. He said he could only give me 50% back because the rest had already processed to the venders. he also tried getting off the phone with me but i refused and demanded all my money back. he put me on hold, we went over my account numbers and said that it would all be back in 7-10 days.
It's amazing how evil people can be. he can only give 50% back to me until i throw a fit. Thanks to everyone who wrote to this site, i followed your advice by staying firm and repeated time and time again that i had a RIGHT to get all my money back.. i called and placed my order sunday and called back and canceled it monday. ill still have to wait and see if all my funds are back into my account in that time.
To anyone else who wants to cancel.. im 20 years old, id admit to being some what gullible and not a very firm or mean person. but if you stay strong, calm (as you can) you will get your money back (or so they say)
