Ramada Plaza Resort/Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations telephoned me on September 15, 2008, and offered me a two night, three day cruise aboard the Imperial Majesty cruise ship, plus multiple nights in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. The original price was $700.00 for two people. Later in the conversation $98.00 was added for port tax, $198.00 and $166.00 were added for extra nights in Orlando. The total came to $1,162.00 which Ramada posted to my Discover Card on September 15, and 16, 2008.

Pleased with the entire vacation package, and relying on Ramada's ability to deliver the same, I charged $474.00 in Disney World tickets and $450.00 for air fare from my home to Fort Lauderdale, and back. These extra charges are non-refundable and non-transferable.

In mid-October a representative of Ramada Plaza Resort telephoned me to say that they were sorry but they were unable to honor the vacation cruise package they sold me because their cruise ship was still under contract to FEMA and they have no assurance of its timely return to their service.

My rigid vacation schedule was a perfect match for the two nights, three day cruise they were selling on September 15, 2008. I have no interest in their alternative offer, tendered by telephone on October 20, 2008, of adding an extra night and day on a different cruise line for a considerable increase in price. I requested Ramada relinquish the fees they had charged to my Discover Card as they were unable to deliver their end of the contract. Ramada REFUSED to return my money citing a no cancellations clause in their contract.

Ramada Plaza Resort does not seem to understand I am NOT canceling my part of the bargain, THEY are unable to deliver the cruise vacation package they offered and I paid for last September.

October 30, 2008, a handicapped friend of mine received a mailing from Ramada Plaza Resorts soliciting for the same vacation package (same unavailable cruise ship) that they are currently unable to honor. In light of such business practice I can only assume Ramada is running a Bait and Switch scam. I have reported them to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs.

I have no recourse but to honor the thousand dollars worth of Disney World and Delta tickets I purchased believing Ramada to operate in good faith and with appropriate ethical standards. I was wrong about Ramada. They are perpetuating a scam. I see on the computer that I am merely one of thousands of people Ramada has defrauded. I am very interested in participating in a class action suit against Ramada and Imperial Majesty Cruise Line Vacations. I am both elderly and handicapped. Perhaps all out-of-state victims can band together, contract with an experienced law firm, and make an "anti-fraud" example out of Ramada Plaza Resort. Is anyone out there interested?

Ripoff Report, thank you in advance for your assistance and support in this egregious matter.
