I contacted the phone number I was given to arrange my vacation and set up cruise information as instructed only to find that the representative Don Frazer did not exist.

I called another customer service number to inquire about what my package offers and found out upon further investigation that the Ramada Plaza Resort vacation package I received for my birthday is nothing more than an elaborate timeshare scam.

Feeling embarassed and remorseful but wanting to save face and my dream of a romantic vacation for two. I purchased a vacation cruise package from Imperial Majesty Cruises only to find out that they too are part of the vacation scam industry.

I can't believe I have been victimized twice. I don't understand why these companies are allowed to prey on individuals who think they are taking advantage of dream getaways only to awake to nightmares.

Please people the old adage is true Buyer Beware. I hope my story will help others. I am contacting my credit card company, the Florida BBB, and the states Attorney General.

I am going to also contact the United States Postal Service because these people are using the mail system for illegal purposes, and I think the Federal Trade Commission would be interested to know how these companies are operating.

I was just called and told the details of the vacation, and it sent up so many flags, I'm glad I came to this site when I searched for the company. First of all, the employee says that only the government tax is applicable. On the phone, the agent said that, even though I have a passport, I still have to pay this "government port tax." I replied, "But I have a passport, and I know the U.S. Government doesn't charge such a thing!" The very nice agent said he would ask who charges the tax. He came back with an answer that sent up the biggest red flag: "It's Bush who charges it." He said "Bush" with utter disdain and hatred. It was at this point that I said that I'm not interested because it sounds too fishy. He transferred me to a manager who informed me that it was the Bohemian government that charged the tax, not Bush or the United States. That wasn't the only red flag, it was just the biggest. The representatives give the most deceptive information. Employee, please do not say that you are only responsible for the "Government port tax." This is false. They also charge the "reservation fee" which is required. As for another red flag that was sent up during my very brief phone conversation (prior to being transferred to the 'manager'), the representative informed me that we would be staying in Orlando, "where Disney World is!" details of the package included a "Motel in the amusement park!" "So we'll stay in a motel in Disney World for free? And two tickets to the park are included!" "Yes! You get two tickets to Universal Studios!" Hmm, red flag! Disney and Universal Studios are two different companies. If the motel is in Disney World, why would the tickets be to Universal Studios? What hurts even worse, my wife and I wouldn't mind sitting through a timeshare presentation. We probably would not purchase anything, but Ramada Plaza Resorts / Imperial Majesty would have gotten the referral money for just sending people to the presentation. All they had to do was tell us, "Sit through a X-hour-long presentation, and we'll give you a 2-day cruise." That's it, we would have done it. Don't try to blame taxes on Bush. Don't try to use Disney or Universal Studios tickets and motel stays as gimmicks. Present the consumer with the truth about the package, and you will receive much more business.

In response to the consumer in reference to Ramada Plaza Resorts: Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines parent Company is Ramada Plaza Resorts. If you received one of our complimentary cruises, all you were required to pay, was the govermental port TAXES, which are payable by all travelers. In addition, we also offer an extended stay package for those traveling long distances for their cruise. No one is obligated to accept either one, the choice is always yours, thats true of all decisions you make regarding traveling and vacations.

While you may work for RPR, the BBB gives your company an 'F' for service. If you wish to see the reasons you can go to their website. I was pretty much ready to join the millions bilked out of their money, when something in my mind put up a big "STOP" sign. I asked the man (who was talking on a phone with a poor connection and so fast I could barely keep up) to call me back as I had an appointment (true) as it was taking so long to get through the spiel. After hanging up I had a few minutes so checked out RPR online, this website came up FIRST thing. Then I checked the BBB. THank you, Rip-off Report for saving me a bunch of money!

Ramada is not a scam. we send you out discounted offers. you call us or as well we call you. we do not make you give sales reps your credit card number at all. Its called freedom in america. we do not force you at all. you may as well feel pressured by sales reps i believe that very much. you do get a great vacation. your getting a florida trip for low rates. go online and try to book we we do for you cheaper. i bet you cannot do it.because i myself take the word of the customer and try it out myself as well. Now For you who CLAIM I WAS NOT TOLD THIS. sales office transfers the call to verifications! WE DO NOT KNOW THE SALES REPS AT ALL! Verifications is there for your purposes as well as ours as a consumer. they go over the entire package in detail. they explain EVERYTHING to you. whether you choose to listen or if like in all these cases your in a rush that is not our fault. like stated before we cannot make you listen but i do know if im spending 800 or even 500 dollars on a pakage i know id be listening. we also send you your pkge in detail with everything EVERYTHING written in it. like before you decide to disregard the package on your own call. I know if i spent that money i would read what i spent it on. wirth anything airline tickets vacations to other countries, i read everything! so we cannot be a scam because if we were we would not send you pakages we would not put you through verifications and we wouldn even help you when you call. and as far as the accomidations go alot of you people condridict yourselves. i read in one comment a young lady was mad it took her 20 minutes to walk to the beach but yet she drove her rental car back? or the hotel was noisy. How can you call a vacation a scam when a hotel has people talking. it is not a library. why should other people stop enjoying there vacation because you dont want them to talk. So like i stated before alot of your complaints are rediculous we give you a decent vacation we try to please everybody but unfortunately we cannot follow you around on your trip like an accountant. we do our best and we may have ten of you with your beware comments but over 1/2 million people travel with us who love it and come back. so if we were a scam we would not be in business.
