Ramada Plaza Resorts rip-off! We were duped. Ft Lauderdale Florida
In Sept 2002 we were easily duped into putting down a $174 deposit for a vacation package. We were assured of all the "great" benefits of this package, just like everyone else. We were told we would only need to pay $524 more. When we got the paperwork, we found out that was for only 1 person - and we were two if we just went as spouses, 5 if we went as family. Right then, we knew we had a problem.
However, life happens, time flew. We had a kid, got divorced, etc. Expiration date was looming... tried to extend it... tried to fleece us for more money. We refused... they say it's impossible to get back any money because (1) it's non-refundable anyways (though when we originally signed up, they never said that) and (2) we didn't pay to extend the dates so the expiration voided any hopes at all.
$174 may not be much to some, but to us it is. And it was still a rip-off, as we got nothing out of it. We now know we've been had, but is there anything we can do?
