I responded to a promotional deal from Ramada Plaza Resorts. Decided at first not to do it. Then had the money and thought I'd try it out. Hoping for a little lurxury, and some relaxation in Florida. My first real vacation, ever. I am on a limitd, fixed income. I contacted them in Nov. "07. Ordered the trip, couple of nights at the beach ($200. extra), overnight trip to the Bahamas. I explained to the salesperson that I had special needs and would require a room on the first floor at the beach, and an outside cabin on the ship. Same deal for the other nights at the hotel in Orlando. I have fibromyalgia, degenerative bone and disc disease, deg. arthritis, terrible food allergies, and several other problems that limit my activities. I'm only 47 years young. I've had 6 hearts attacks, and 15 surgeries. I needed a break from my routine.

I get to the "welcome center", I arrived 2 days early so I could rest up, this place was a dump. I thought the beach would be nicer. I was wrong. I get to the beach. I was siked up! The beach at Ft. Lauderdale! Nice, Feb. in Fla...!!!

Lovely places to stay, I drive to the address, this place was probably nice when it was built in 1930-50's. I don't know when. It was the biggest Dump on the whole beach. Next to a demolished hotel, my room was on the 3rd floor, there was no 1st floor. (Big lie) The room was so bad. The bed was probably as old as the building, so was the air conditioner. I take hot baths to relax. The tub had sand in it. (I hope it was sand). The bed was so hard, the sheets didn't fit. I couldn't open the balcony door. They sprayed it with wd40.

The view from my balcony was the dumpster (full), which was emptied the next morning at 7 am, the next morning. Very loud!

They had internet, if you took your computer to the lobby. There were dirty socks on the chair , on the balcony, from the previous resident. The staff was rude, and the houskeepers were dressed like they were working in the laundry of a dump in Jamaca. It was so bad that I left the next morning and drove home. I contacted them for a refund and got the usual answer. No refund, only transfer to someone else. I contacted both of the Atty's General in Fla. and Ky. where I live. They took care of it in a matter of a couple of months. If that helps anyone, I'm glad.

I told them I believed that God was on my side, and he didn't have a chance against us! I was right.I still didn't get my vacation.I will.Good luck and God Bless.

In response to the traveler with disabilities: We have recently refurbished our hotels as most hotels will do from time to time. We cannot however stop the CITY from making noise when they pick up the trash outside. You should have filed that complaint with the city. We don't take any responsibility for city trash dumpers. As far as the employess working at our hotels, they were uniforms, that are clean and tidy, you sound as though youn were grouchy from the get go, maybe from your illnesses. Our beaches in Florida are also nice enough to enjoy. Sounds as though everthing in life in general was bothering you. So sorry you couldn't have made the best of it, and looked for the good in life. I received the same offer last year, but because I had done my research on this site, I knew it was a scam. Next time, do YOUR research before dealing with a strange company and you won't be taken. And Lord knows - there are enough scammers out there.
