March 1,2016-- R'cd call from D. Adams re: 5day 4 night All-inclusive vacation in Puerta Vallarta in a 1 BR for $399 or  2 BR for $599.  After chatting he learned we were over 75yrs.  and did not qualify because  of the required attendance at a 90 min. sales presentation.  He asked if I had family who might be interested.  It so happened that my son Lorne wanted to extend a 7 day vacation and said he would be interested.   I used my VISA credit card  to pay. 

Verification  #23383016 He had 2 years to take the vacation. 

At that time lLorne had 3 sons  ages 9 (twins) and 7.  Adams said the resort would accommodate  a family of 5 in a 1 BR. Aams assured me that if Lorne wished to uprade to a 2 Br, he could do that and pay a nightly fee. No where did he mention this was a hotel room.   I did not ask because I had vacationed at that resort in a 1 BR.   2nd  Verification #23383030 issued.

Because of illness in family Lorne was not able to book Christmas 2016. He began early to work on bookings for Christmas  2017.  In late August  he called to confirm the booking at Villa Palmar Resort.  Couldn't confirm 'til closer to Dec.    In Sept. /17  Lorne wanted Summer Vacations RCI told him to call directly to resort which he did.

 Early Oct/17   By this time the boys were older: ages 11 and 9. Resort refused to upgrade to a 2 BR and refused to accommodate afami;ly of 5 in a hotel room  not a 1 BR. 

 I called Summer Vacations Call center (reservations)  RCI myself and talked with director Nick.  On Oct 23, 2017 he said he would refund the money.  

My husband and I left for vacation in Mexico. We did not check Visa statementtil early Jan.  No refund.  Called Nick who said the transaction was declined.  GHe requested a copy of Visa statement which was forwarded by email to him.  Numerous phone calls and emails followed.  Another Director named Adams was to report to me what happened to the payment.  He has never called. 

 

Feb 1 called again.  No response.   Spoke with VBisa.  They could not do a disputes  resolution because of time delay.  Recommended that I file a complaint with Consumer Protection who said to file a report to comsumer Investigations in Edmonton, Ab.  I also sent a letter to RCI Headquarters in Carmel, IND. USA 

I did write a complaint to BBB orlando, Fl.  on Feb. 2nd, 2017 but do not know if it was received.    No confirming email recived.
