They call real estate agents from Realtor.com. They target low volume realtors. They promise referrals from "the over 2.5 million" consumers that come to their site looking for realtors. Lie #1.
When I told them that I wanted to call some of the other agents who have signed up, I was told that they would not be good agents to call since they just signed up this week. When I called those agents, they had been signed up for a month, not this week, and have received NO referrals.
The premise they use is the google search words. The only way people get to their site is if they type the exact words "real estate agent" into the search bar. Unfortunately, there are at least thousands of possible search word combinations.
This is not the first or the last time this scam will arise. It happens when you put your car into a Tradin Times/Wheeler Dealer magazine...they start calling you promising leads coming from their website.
Don't fall for it. They prey on low volume agents. Simply tell them you want to call some of the agents in your area that have signed up, and watch what happens.
