This is a complaint about a Dr. Wellness hot tub. I bought this on-line from "Richard" (832-453-4141)from a dealer named Rec-Direct, in Houston Texas. After reading some of the other complaints about this company (including electrical shock) my experience doesn't seem as drastic, however, this X6 tub arrived the middle of July, 2013. I installed it and everything was fine until I changed the water about seven months later. The second pump was cavitating. After several shorts tries it would not pump water even though I filled it the correct way. The factory said "sometimes this happens". They explained that I had to loosen one or more of the wing nuts on the head of that pump, let the air out, and it would be fine. To do this I had to remove several of the panels, get under the tub, search for the wing nuts (which don't look like wings nuts), and let the air out, then put everything back together. The panels are some plastic composite, easy to care for but they crack easily. One of the corners broke off as I was removing it. I think the factory cracked that one putting it on.

Over the next year every fitting that toggles or rotates stopped. The rings around the adjustable fittings became harder to turn until most of them would not adjust at all. One of them came off in my hand. They were several ball bearings and plastic parts on the seat of the tub. I collected all of these parts and called the factory. Ray said just take some pictures of the parts, send them to him, and he would send replacement parts.

The tub also starting leaking when filled to capacity. Another call to the factory, I told them I thought it was the speakers in the tub that were leaking when the water got up to the level of the speakers. These are hot tub speakers, They are supposed to withstand water. I was told to "just put some silicon around the speakers. I don't know if there is way to adjust the clock but it keeps horrible time - gaining about an hour a month, which, of course, throws off your timing cycle for heating and filtering.

I had a Dough Boy hot tub before this one that was over 25 years old. Every jet that rotated still worked after all those years, so I know there are parts that withstand the test of time. The company should pay for the parts and labor to make this hot tub work correctly. They did tell me they would pay for parts for two years. That will be this coming July. I am going to wait until the beginning of summer before ordering the parts just to see what else may break.

The long and the short of this is; I didn't buy a brand new multi-thousand dollar hot tub so I could start repairing it.

I get the feeling this company uses inferior parts and their quality control during assembly is poor.

I was warned about buying on-line but I wanted to buy American. I suggest any future buyers of hot tubs look at several options before buying from this company, -Gordon
