I was unfortunate enough to recieve a call from Redwood Empire Tech. promising a gift of my choice for allowing a sales rep of air purifiers into my home for about an hour of my time with no obligation to buy. The sales rep came in and gave his spiel on an air quality system which I did not need and which lasted well over two hours. At the end of the presentation he asked me to fill out a questionnaire and asked if I could give him the names of other people he could visit. I said, "no" and let him know that the products seemed great, but well over my budget as I am a single parent and out of work. The sales rep kept pushing me to purchase the equipment after he had consulted with his "boss" on the phone for several minutes. He told me he could give me the products for one dollar that day and start making payments in two years. At this point it was well past dinner and my son and I were starving and I just wanted the guy out of my home. I decided to go ahead and sign the paper work which he said I could cancel within three days. I went ahead and cancelled the purchase within the alloted time and in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission. I sent the cancellation via certified mail and return receipt. After waiting about a week I decided to contact the office to find out when I would receive my vacuum cleaner back and for someone to pick up their products. The guy on the phone said I did not follow the guidelines for cancellation and said I would not recieve a refund, plus I never recieved the promised gift. I have all my documentation, I called the FTC to make a formal complaint and I am in the proces of completing paper work at my local DA's office to enforce the consumer protection laws. What else can I do? I am so angry that these types of companies are allowed to operate.

Miss martinez, Please retract your claim against my company. your cancellation was up held. We had already picked up the system and returned your trade in and refunded the money. You are bent out of shape. This website is a joke. people only come to complain even though everything was taken care of. If you did not receive your gift then let me know. I will send it to you. Sometimes we have associates that neglect to carry the correct gift . This also happens when we have new associates. At the time of the sale you were not upset nor were you wanting to get him out of your house. I talked to the associate that day and at the same time he had called in. You wanted the system and you were excited about the promotion we offered. we gave you 2 years no payments or interest. you loved the deal and jumped right for it. don't be mad at us for helping you out. Thank you for your post.
