Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Gary Brown DBA Regulus Films DBA The Miami Studio was commissioned to do work for a reality pilot in exchange for a partnership with our company.  After 3 weeks of various shooting Gary stepped out of the picture and began to demand money for continued work, after an agreement was already reached to work in exchange for a cut of the show we created.  After paying him additionally for several months with no work being produced we questioned his dedication to completing the job, which was now in month 2 of editing a 5 minute segment.

At that point we paid the last invoice and said we better see some results in the next few days as we were leaving town.  Gary refunded the invoice as he doesn't have the ability to accept credit card transactions and demanded that we pay him cash or check before we left town, which we were unable to do that day.

This is when things got ugly...Gary took it upon himself to steal all of our video equipment while we were away from another employee of ours J, which included a Cannon 5D, Cannon 7D, Various Lenses, Manfrotto Fluid Tripod, and various other accessories, totaling nearly $8,000. He held this equipment hostage and we were only notified when the other employee J came to retrieve the equipment to find it stolen, at which point Gary informed him he was keeping our equipment until his $500.00 invoice was paid, which we paid as soon as we received the new invoice from him.

I had another employee A go to Regulus Films office to retrieve the equipment and confront Gary, when he informed A that the equipment was now with his armed gun man who was ready to kill any of our employees who tried to retrieve the equipment.  He then threatened us through phone calls and messages that he was going to have his armed gun man come to the office and kill some of our employees, we have 5 full time staff in our public office so I immediately called the police to try to get them to stop the situation as we were 3,500 miles away.

The police arrived too late as Gary and his armed gunman had already been in my office to threaten my employees brandishing a weapon.  We filed a report with the police but they needed more concrete evidence of threats and violence to make any arrests. I had to close the office down for 3 days and put my employees with families out of work because of his threats and continued tirade, our female employees were terrified to come to work.

At this point through dozens of emails Gary finally agreed to return the stolen equipment to our employee J on 12/23/11 so he could continue to do his job.  I returned from vacation on 1/5/2012 to find that the main equipment had been returned, but we were still missing all of our memory cards, hard drives, and other camera accessories.

Now Gary had extorted us out of the last $500.00 in exchange for no work but our equipment back, and when confronted on 1/8/2012 after doing inventory about all the missing equipment he informed us that he was not returning that property at all until he was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Now at this date 1/10/2012 he still has all our property, both hard goods and intellectual property which we own and paid him to produce and will not return the property.

Gary has cost me tens of thousands of dollars and irreparable damage to my company due to our inability to operate using our property and continue to have my employees do their jobs with the property he still owns. He threatens gun violence at the slightest business disagreement and steals equipment to extort money.  The most unprofessional video producer and business owner I regret to say I did business with, please do not do business in any way with Gary Brown DBA Regulus Films DBA The Miami Studio.

Coast2Coast is simply trying to tarnish our name, but it won't work!

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Wed, January 18, 2012

So my name is Gary and I am the proud owner of Regulus Films. While it is true that my company was commissioned to do work for a reality piliot in exchange for a partnership with Coast2Coast mixtapes we never signed a agreement. Big mistake on my part ( I should have known better considering that these guys had many complants againist them,In particular the Nick Hiersche. ) Unfortunately 99.99% of there cliental is from the urban community and don't take the time out to write such complaints. I was paid $500 one month to handle some video production for them since we was in agreement to be partners on the reality pilot I agreed to this. The second month I was suppose to receive $500 for the same thing but Coast2Coast did not want to pay me because they said that no work was done?? The truth is that they did not want to pay two of my production team members. Coast2Coast wanted me to keep them as interns! Regulus Films may bring in an intern for a week or two but as the owner I believe that if a person show there value and they are worth paying then PAY THEM! When Coast2Coast mixtapes refused to pay them they decided not to do anymore work for the company until some kind of compensation was resolved. This in turn took 2 1/2 weeks for Coast2Coast to realize what a value that they were to the company and decided
to eventually pay them. Well since there was no one working in the office ( due to Coast2Coast neglect ) this is the reason that Nick HIERSCH and his brother KYLE HIERSCH feels that I did not perform my job.   " because I did not talk them into staying interns!!" This company eventually paid me through paypal and then 3 weeks later filed a dispute with paypal to try and get the money that they paid me back saying I did not perform the services. As of January 17,2012 Paypal found the dispute ridiculous and found Regulus Films in favor of winning the case. ( Which I knew we would win) to open up a case like this was simply a waste of everyone time. As for a ARMED GUN man??? How ridiculous is this??? If this was true how am I still allowed to have a office in this building???? (Please ask yourself this) As for stealing equipment? if you are partners on a joint adventure how do you steal anything that is inside MY OFFICE?
As for this statement: (Gary has cost me tens of thousands of dollars and irreparable damage to my company due to our inability to operate using our property and continue to have my employees do their jobs with the property he still owns.  The most unprofessional video producer and business owner I regret to say I did business with, please do not do business in any way with Gary Brown DBA Regulus Films DBA The Miami Studio.)  Please tell me if my company was so bad how are we able to do video production for some VERY PRESTIGE clients. Just this month alone we closed a 6,000 deal a 10,000 deal and a 7,000 deal! and these are productions that has been DONE with happy clients!! and this is only the January 18 th 2012. Regulus was even hired by a New York company as a Production manager for a Buster Rhymes shoot that happened January 5th of 2012.
Anybody that take the time to read this will simply see that this company is trying to tarnish our reputation. What Coast2Coast Mixtapes do not  realize is in doing all this it only brings more awareness to our company and at what level of production we are able to offer to a company that may need our services. So Regulus humbly thank you for the free advertisement Coast2Coast.
If anyone here would like to speak to me please feel free to contact me directly at 786-429-4511 and feel free to visit our website at www.themiamistudio.com
we have many ( prestige references that we can provide ) unlike Coast2Coast which has testimonies from clients that you would not let your kids around. Have a great day and thank you for taking the time to read. Now I Am Going Back To Work.
