  1.  Renee Parent of 5 Hand Farms

Please do not sent this woman any money for a dog/puppy. In my opinion she is a 5 star scam artist.

Renee Parent advertised an adult bernese mountain dog on puppy find in the amount of 1,200.00.  ( I printed off the ad on Aug 19th ) I contacted MS. Parent and told her that i was interested in the dog, we discussed personality and registration. I decided to purchase the dog. Renee parent then sent me a paypal request for the total amount of the dog plus a 4% fee which I paid on Aug, 20th 2013, which did not include shipping cost , vet fee or travel crate.

Aug, 20th Ms. parent told me that the shipping would be over 900, cost of crate would be over 300 and then there would be the vet bill. Renee Parent told me that the cost would be more than the dog and she was coming to my area in 1 1/2 months and would be happy to transport the dog for me free of charge.

Aug, 23, I informed Ms Parent that my daughter could set up  the shipping for much less and we really didn't want to wait that long for Sadie to come.  We set up the flight arrangements and emailed the information to Renee Parent.

I emailed Renee Parent several times between Aug, 23 and the 27 with no response from Renee Parent.

On Aug, 28th I discovered that she had another listing for GreatBerners and decided to email her from the listing she had for these puppies. Ms. Parent responded and said she had not received any of my emails . I thought this was strange since I used the same email account.

Renee Parent told me that she did receive the crate but she could not ship the dog out on Aug, 30th and would not be until the middle of September.

I received another email from Ms. Parent stating that she could ship the dog on Sept 5th. She said she was sending me another paypal requset for the remaining balance due for sadie plus vet and flight. The request was for an additional 1,410.00.

On Aug 28th I said the amount was not correct because I had already shiped her the crate, the flight was 475.00 and the vet could not be more than 100.00.

Aug 28th I received a reply saying that the cost of Sadie was 2200.00.  and if I didn't pay by a certain time she would assume that I had changed my mind.

I sent her another email and ask for her to break down the charges, Ms. Parent replied that the 1,200 I paid was a deposit and not the total amount.

Aug, 28th I told Ms. Parent that I had a printed copy of the orginal ad , Ms. Parent told me that she also had a printed copy.

I ask Ms. Parent to send me a copy and she said she would after she put her children to bed.

Aug, 29th I received a copy of the alleged ad with the price of 2,200.00 for sadie.  I then noticed that the Greatberners she had listed were 8 weeks old. It would be impossible for this to be the original ad since the Great Berners were born July 4th and I purchased Sadie on Aug, 20th. At the time I purchased Sadie the other pups would have been 6 weeks old. This clearly shows that she realisted Sadie , took a picture of the screan to email to me.

After I informed Renee Parent that I knew what she had done she came up with several escuess and send me yet another photo's she claimed was the original listing, again I noticed there was a date that had been photo shoped in the picture.

I did a search on her and discovered in 2009 she had a local listing in VT for Bernese Mountain Dog puppies. In the picture you can clearly see that these were not Bernese Puppies but she advertised they were , saying father was on site.

This woman scamed me, de frauded me and tried to extort additional money from me.  I have filed several reports against her including a police report.

Don't be scamed by this woman or anyone associated with 5 Hand Farms

This type of Scams are becoming more common.

The Scammer will list an item for sale and request you pay via paypal saying this is the safest way to pay for you and for the.

You feel safe in the fact that PayPal has a good reputation of protecting you.

The scammer sends you a paypal request for the total amount of the item and puts in the comments , this is for payment of __________ , and does not include shippping fees. Payments are non refundable.

You make the payment and don't question the payment being Non Refundable .

Here is where the scam come into play. The Scammer realizing that you will have a hard time getting your money back since you paid and the comment was attached Non Refundable.  The scammer will send you a request for the shipping.  This amount will be much more than the item was priced at .

At this point you are starting to think whats going on and you question them about it.  They will come up will all different kinds of excueses. The most common one is that the item was priced at a much higher price.  You know this is not true but the item has been taken off and unless you printed the listing off when you first purchased it , you don't have any proof of this.

At this point you know you have been scamed and you are not going to send them any additional moeny to be scamed out of.

Bingo the scammer has you. They know you will have a hard time getting money back from PayPal since they put in the message to buyer ( Payments are Non Refundable)

Here are a couple of ways you can avoid this.

Print off the original ad listing.

Make sure the price of the item is clearly stated when sending money.

If sending a deposit make sure it says what the amount of deposit is and this will come off the total purchase price making sure the total price is stated in the message field.

This is not the first time Renee Parent has used this scam.

In commenting to the picture she has of the mixes. She is clearly stating in her ad 2 Bernese Males available. There is not a message of them being a Bernese Cross

The fist statement Renee Parent made about the dog being priced at 2200 is false.  I have the original listing and will be happy to email it to anyone. It clearly states 1200.00

The second statement Renee Parents about shipping being my respoinsiblity is true.  I shipped Renee Parent a crate that cost me 158.00 and set up the flight arrangements, the cost of that was 475.70. This plus vet expense which would have been no more than 100.00 would not add up to 1410.00 , the amount would have been 575.70. I have documentation and emails supporting all of this. Also in Renee Parents second statement she say's deposits. A deposit was never made, payment for 1 BMD Sadie was 1200.00

In the third statement Renee Parent made she says these are Bernese Croses, however if you look at the ad she posted it clearly states Bernese , NOT BERNESE CROSES.

In the fourth statement Renee Parent refer's to the photo's , again please email me and I wil be happy to forward the emails Renee Parent sent me with these photo's attached to them.

The fifth statement the ladys make is so far from the truth. Please provide doumatation to this Renee Parent.. I requested Renee Parent to break down the charges which she never would. I ask for Renee Parent to send me the original listing for Sadie and she clearly sent me fake one, again I have no problem proving this.

Update on information I became aware of today.

As I stated in my first complaint , Renee Parent did not reply to any of my emails from just before noon on Aug, 23rd until Aug, 28th when I emailed her from a listing she had on Puppy Find for Greatberners.

Renee Parent had been in contact with another buyer (John Troyer Jr) from Ohio . I can provide his contact information as well.  John Troyer sent her over 1,900,  He also saw her original listing for Sadie in the amount of 1,200.00 and when John Troyer ask Renee Parent about this she came up with some excuess about her husband and said the price was  1,850. John agreed to pay that amount plus the additional 4% that Renee Parent charges.

I have a record where John parent contacted a shipping company on Aug, 27th for transporting Sadie from VT to Ohio where he lives.

As I was informed by John the Dog Sadie is supposed to be picked up and delivered to him September 7th 2013. My point to this is yes it was very easy for Renee Parent to take a picture of Sadie since she has not been picked up yet.

In closing Renee Parent is very good at scamming but not the best yet giving all the documatation I have and this new evidence I have uncovered.

Renee Parent simply found someone willing to pay her more money but also intended to keep the money I had paid for Sadie as well.

I plan on using all the legal resources at my disposal to recover my money and hopefully put this Scammer (Renee Parent) behind bars where she belongs.

Please email me at [email protected] if you would like to see any of the information that pertains to this matter.

The information contained in this report is not true.

This woman contacted me to purchase my family dog I had listed for $2200 on puppyfind.com

This woman split payment after deciding to take her, putting only a deposit down on my dog. Shipping was her responsibility along with any associated fees there of.

This woman was advised by me, deposits were non-refundable, prior to making any such payment. In additon in the paypal memo, which she reviewed before sending any payment, it was notated about shipping, associated fees there of and that the dog would not ship until all was paid for in full. Payment in full was never received and was refused by her.

In the photos she has listed, the one of a set of puppies from a few years ago in a local ad, my Aunt placed that ad with a contact address of my email for me to handle inquries. We still keep touch with those puppy owners and receive updates periodically from most of them. Those puppies were Berner crosses. Dad was onsite and Mom was next door.

In regards to the other photos posted, this woman was sent a copy of the original ad and relist ad of my dog on puppy find.  There are clear differences in the two ie: puppies ages, price, recent/updated phots, etc... Nothing was photoshopped despite what this woman thinks and she was upset when she realized this.

Attached is a photo of my dog with todays date on a paper hanging around her neck to ensure the pictures are mine from the previous comment. I did not steal any pictures, they were and are all mine.

I have not scammed or defrauded this woman, she is simply angry for backing out of the purchase and losing her deposit. A resolution was sought and was not able to be had, as this woman would not agree to anything.

this is a common scam, there is no puppy only a stolen picture someone used to get you to send them money. I sure hope you sent it so you can get it back and not some untraceable means.

next time ask them to write something on a piece of paper and take a picture of the paper next to the dog then send you the pic.

never ever send money to someone on a promise, go there and put your hands on whatever u want to buy.

look up puppy scam and i am sure your hear of horror stories on how they had to buy "insurance" "vet" "airfare" "boarding fees" blah blah etc... guess what they never got any of that only took your money and ran away.
