Renewal by Andersen Installed 12 windows Granger Indiana
In March of 2018 we signed a contract with Renewal by Andersen to instal 12 windows for almost $27,000. The project was not completed until October of 2018 because of of many problems that included measuring one patio door incorrectly which led them to install a piece of plywood for more than two months preventing us from viewing our lake.
Other problems were having the wrong color of stain, many miscommunications, wrong size trim, etc. Once it was completed we were not aware that the installers never put any insulation (inside or out) around all 12 windows. During the winter we noticed how cold it was in the house as you could feel the draft coming through the windows. Frost developed on the trim of all windows. Finally with lots of hassel, it was finally determined indeed no insulation was installed.
They finally finished in July of 2019. When we asked for only $500 in compensation for loss heating/cooling costs, it was denied. One of Renewal by Andersen big selling points is that you will recup a lot of the costs of the windows by lowering your heating & cooling bills. This may be true if they were installed correctly. We feel the big corporation just ripoff the senior citizen couple. It would be helpful if anyone could help us get some of our money back.
