I know of Reno Pozza from the Phoenix area, and he, and his company served the pool industry very well. Reno was well known, and respected. His company grew quickly because he was innovative, honest, and had provided Great customer service.
As with all construction, there will always be individual products that have their issues, or homeowners who do not follow directions, and mess things up, which they then blame on the contractor. There will also be sub-contractors who make mistakes, and need to be called back to fix various issues. This goes along with the business of construction across the board. This is why we have warranties.
Reno used the latest in technology, and was very creative with the pools he designed and built. Many of his pools were not the basic holes in the ground, filled with water. New technology sometimes fails us, and for this reason, he may have had more warranty issues than some smaller companies.
Anyone ever bought a car that had a warranty issue? Anyone ever built a home, or building where everything was on time and perfect?....... I doubt it.
The slow down in housing and then the crash in lending hurt every construction company in Phoenix. It happened almost overnight, and even very strong, cash rich, longstanding names in construction crashed, and are gone forever. Some of the owners still live in big houses, driving big trucks, and still owe everyone. Some of us, like Reno, spent everything we had to pay the people we could. Hard decisions had to be made, and someone always gets hurt when that has to be done. The best thing we can do is to pick ourselves up and remake ourselves, with the hope of coming back and making things right again.
I don't believe Reno ran away from anything in Phoenix. Rather, he just used what he had, which was some connections in Texas, to remake himself. He made some hard decisions for himself and his family, and I'm sure he did the best he could, with what he had, at that time. For that reason, I know he sleeps well at night.
In Arizona, Reno had a very large, and beautiful pool at his home. He used every option anyone could ever put on a pool. He know how it feels to have a great pool, and then lose it.
I would have Reno Pozza design and build a pool for me anytime, anywhere, and would recomend him to anyone.
Reno, as well as the rest of us learned a great deal in the last few years. Reno is the same, honest man he was then, but much smarter.

I would like to file a rebuttal to the report filed against me, Somerset Pools & Spas and my new company, Living Water Pools & Spas. I have been in the pool business for over 15 years working for a pool company in sales and then for my own company in Arizona and now for the past three months in San Antonio, Texas. During this time in the pool business I have always treated my clients with honesty and integrity. Due to the reputation Somerset Pools had in
I never scammed or defrauded anyone as this blog report alleges nor would I. When the real estate market crashed in 2007 and very few people were buying swimming pools I used all my personal money as well as using all equity from my properties to try and keep Somerset Pools operating as well as pay subcontractors and employees. Eventually I ran out of money and the pool business continued to get worse. This forced me and many other pool companies out of business.
Because of this business failure some customers were forced to apply for money from my insurance to finish their pool and some subcontractors were not paid for work they performed, so I still owe them money. A scam artist does not use up all his personal money and liquidate his personal assets in an effort to pay off debt.
Its fairly obvious that everything in report #615126 was all fabricated by one nameless person who was not a customer but a subcontractor that I must owe money to. Some of the allegations in this blog are quite ludicrous but I will address them anyway.
As far as not having a pool in my backyard, that is true. I cannot afford a pool. I guess I am relegated to cooling off with a hose for now.
As for the dog crap in my yard, I dont own a dog and my house does have indoor plumbing.
As for my criminal association with Sammy The Bull Gravano, come on! I never was associated with Gravano and I believe he was in prison before I started Somerset Pools in 2001.
As far as I know, there are no dead bodies buried under any of the pools I built.
As far as having a history of screwing people, I addressed what happened and I admit some people did get hurt due to my business failure in 2007. This was certainly not intentional and it is my intention to resolve this when possible.
My new pool company is only three months old and my clients are very happy and are referring customers to me.
As far as this mystery person (Jennifer S., Phoenix) whos one year old pool is falling apart, well I shut down Somerset Pools three and half years ago.
As for (John)s absolute nightmare, Somerset Pools grew due to quality construction and customer service. If this person John exists, Im not aware of him. Construction is not without its problems but my company always did everything possible to build a quality product.
Because this anonymous person who filed this report was gracious enough to provide you with all my personal contact information, please feel free to contact me with any other questions you may have. I would appreciate you removing this from this site.
