I rented a washer and dryer from Rent-A-Center and received them last night at 6 PM. I went into the laundry room last night at 10 PM and for the first time ever saw a cockroach coming out from under the dryer. I killed it. I have never had any sort of bug issue and seeing this made me go online and see if other people have had this issue. Already this morning I have had to kill another cockroach this time on the washing machine. Rent-A-Center is not open yet. I can only hope that it does not take them two days to come get these roach infested machines! I have never rented from one of these places before and all I can say is that I will never rent form one again.

First of all I don't rent to own. I own every piece of furniture that I have in my house. The reason why I came on her was to file a complaint against the way you harass the references and I was also thinking about renting a laptop from you guys but after reading report after report and seeing all the terrible experinces that so many people have went thru I chose not to deal with your kind. I'm just saying it's unprofessional to get on here and try to put someone on blast because in the end you only make you're company look bad because I am a landlord and I would never get on line and ever put any of my tenants business on line rather they have roaches or rats. It's very unprofessional. Have you noticed that aarons has nine complaints against them rent a center has over 300+ and more are getting added everyday. Who are you number 1 to. It must be to yourselves to me you're far from number one and are so unprofessional. One of these days someone is going to put you out of business and let's see how number one you are than.

NOW THAT'S WHY THERE ARE OVER 300 COMPLAINTS ABOUT RENT A CENTER NOW BECAUSE EMPLOYESS LIKE YOU FAKE BLUE EYES... YOU FAIL TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHEN YOU MAKE MISTAKES AND TRY TO BLAME IT ON THE CUSTOMER... EVEN IF SHE DID HAVE ROACHES IN HER HOUSE IT WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL OF YOU TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT... THAT'S SO RUDE AND THAT'S WHY I BE SO GLAD WHEN SOMEONE PUT RENT A CENTER OUT OF BUSINESS. TO ALL YOU RENT A CENTER EMPLOYEES HAVE YOU NOTICE HOW MANY COMPLAINTS YOU GUYS HAVE ON HERE AND THAN YOU TRY TO GET ON HERE AND TRY TO MAKE YOURSELF AND YOUR COMPANY LOOK GOOD BY PUTTING DOWN SOMEBODY ELSE WELL I SAY SHAME ON YOU. RENT A CENTER IS A HORRIBLE PLACE OF BUSINESS. AND HAVE THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL RUDIEST AND IMMORAL EMPLOYEES.

Unfortunately, the person taking your order over the phone is mostly to blame. They didn't properly verify how you wanted to make your payments. By listening to your side it sounds like they had you set up on weekly payments. It also could have been avoided on your side by examining the reciept. They put your next payment due date on it. Also, the person taking your order should have explained that the refridgerator you got was going to be used. 80% of the merchandise rented in RAC is used. Your contract should include the serial# and should say new or used or prieviously rented on the contract. As far as the exterminator is concerned, well, all I can say is that at least RAC tried. The exterminator however is limited to what they can do if you are not able to leave your house for a fumigation. This type of business is more suited for people who come into the store and can see what they are renting before it gets to their home. Unfortunately, I have seen this happen several times. Usually, most of the problems occur because there is a lack of understanding on the customers part of the nature of the rental business. The remainder is due to the lack of employees part in explaining it properly and/or making mistakes in setting up the contract terms that are not easily fixed after the merchandise is in the home.

to start off with half of the things that you say on here is a lie. i personally delivered the ref my self and i noticed that once i was inside your nasty house you had already had a roach problem. i seen one crawling on your couch.then a few days later you called and said that the ref had roaches, so we acted professionaly like we always do and sent a professional pest controll company to your house at our exspense and had your house sprayed, then brought you almost a brand new ref.then you made 2 past due payments.when the third payment came due you still didnt pay and we had to make an attempt to contact you twice a day but you would never answer your phone.and when you did after about 30 days you would answer and start cursing at us then hang up.and when i did go to your house to try and get it back i never once parked in your driveway for 30 mins. i had always parked in the street and walked up to your door and knocked just to see you hide like a coward behind closed doors.and i never once opened your door after delivery to be able to break it.and jack beall dosent write rac will sue you on duct tape.he dose proffesional work just like we do.i just wonder what your excuse was not to pay the other store either.you never had any intension to pay on that ref.sounds like you are a proffesional at what you do also.filing false reports, and not paying. happy cockroaching bozo

""And hear the phone continually ring from about 9am until about 9pm daily. So when does this sh*t ever end? And returning the property is not an option because I NOW OWN IT according to the Fair Debt Collection Act. And I will not return it nor will I make another payment."" I consider myself well versed about the FDCPA and the FCRA, so I don't understand how you figure you own it per the FDCPA. Are you aware that the FDCPA applies restrictions to third party debt collectors (collecting monies owed to another) and NOT to creditors?

Had you fully read my posting you would have known that I have called the store on NUMEROUS occassions to report all the problems I have been having. I also have called corporate to report the problems. The district manager is trying to correct the problems but must be scared of the store manager for some reason becasue he has still not fixed the problem. He credited my account for the March and April payments that I REFUSED to pay because no one would pay any attention to me or my problems. But the store manager still continually calls my home. And for what reason? I don't have a payment due yet. And also the district manager transferred my account to another store. So he has no reason whatsoever to call me. And I know it is him because at one point when this was occurring the district manager told me that the manager was the only one in the store at that time. And I have the district manager "ON TAPE" stating that YES they did hire the private investigator to try to SCARE me into returning the property or making a payment. Take that to the "FAIR DEBT COLLECTION ACT" people and see just how far that will go? Not very d*mn far. IT IS AGAINT THE LAW TO HARRASS PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!! But as of 3pm April 24, 2008 the problems have not been corrected, I still have to chase cockroaches and continually spray as well as tying my storm door shut so it won't be torn off the hinges by the wind. And hear the phone continually ring from about 9am until about 9pm daily. So when does this sh*t ever end? And returning the property is not an option because I NOW OWN IT according to the Fair Debt Collection Act. And I will not return it nor will I make another payment. Plus I feel the company owes me for stress, harassment as well as exterminating my home for roaches and repairing the storm door. Both to my satisfaction. The door worked just fine and I did not have cockroaches before I started doing business with Rent A Center. And I don't think its too much to ask for my home to be in the SAME EXACT condition as before I started doing business with the LOSER company Rent A Center.

Have you called the store and asked why they are coming and to find out what the actual due date is. I know some of my employees make mistakes. Don't think that all these stores are bad. I've worked for them 7 years and have managed one for the last year or better and we don't do that. Rent A Center does not hire private investigators. We would treat you with respect and deliver you a clean refrigerator if you rented from my store, but we are far away from you. Call the customer care line and they can help you.
