Resort Equity Marketing Overestimates The Value Of Your Timeshare, Gets Your Cash, Then Does Absolutely Nothing. once they have your money, they will do absolutely nothing and never contact you again Altamonte Springs Florida
It was interesting to read the reports from El Cajon, CA, and Crystal, MN. Their stories are similar to mine.
After paying REM my $685 in June of 2004, I wondered if the $36,000 they told me I could get from my one bedroom suite at Atlantis, Bahamas was realistic. So I asked them to give me the factual sales figures from other identical timeshares. They behaved as if they had never heard of such a thing.
My question to them was how in the world did they estimate that my timeshare could sell for $36,000 if they couldn't produce any comps. This was followed by hmms and haws and a lot of pretending not to understand my point.
When i went on line to find my property, masquerading as a prospective buyer, I couldn't find it. I was told it wasn't on the web site because it was being marketed at conventions in Florida, where most of their properties were sold. I have no idea what it would have hurt them to put the property on their site.
Not a single prospective buyer emailed me or called me to make an offer on my timeshare. This was months before the hurricane season kicked off. Of course, now that is their big excuse. The hurricane season of 2004. I would actually buy that if they hadn't supposedly started "marketing" my property in late June to no avail.
As of February, still nothing. And ya, like the other reports say, i had them mail me the two air tickets they promise if they can't sell your timeshare in 180 days. The air travel vouchers are only valid if you stay at one of their hotels for 7 or 14 days.
Bottom line, this outfit is reeeal shady. Once they have your money, there is no incentive to take any action. And that is literally what they do. Absolutely nothing.

Check the internet and see what other units in your complex are selling for - used. That will give you a good idea of what yours could sell for if you find a good company and not the scam company.
