Like many others who have fell into ResumeGenius.com's bait and switch scam, I opted for a $1.95 14-day full access, which misled me with the extremely low price and got me paying a subsequent $39.99 for a service I did not authorize. Their company is located in Delaware but their terms of use claim that we look to the State of Maryland's laws. According to Section 14-2902 of 2010 Maryland Code Commercial Law, “For the purpose of purchasing, selling, or disposing of property or a service, a person may not advertise a statement containing a representation of fact that the person knows, or by the exercise of reasonable care should know, to be untrue, deceptive, or misleading.”

I strongly believe that I am a victim of false advertising and as I stand firm on my belief, I am afraid that the content used to generate my resume may have been unfairly used to decide if I would be offered a refund.

Resume Genius also failed to make clear that customers must proactively cancel the 14-day trial they openly claim was free. If they don't, they're charged automatically.

It is unfortunate that the person I was corresponding with was rude and threatens me with lowering my credit score.

Apart from that, if you were to look deeper, you would find that they have ghost writers who contributes to articles. Run some search on sites like SiteJabber.com and you would see a ton of 5-star reviews from users on the same exact day. Their comments are so carefully crafted that you would think those are legit!

Furthermore, their show of endorsements from various news agencies and colleges sound too good to be true.
