A few months ago I received a letter from Merchants Credit Guide stating that I owed them for an account that was opened in 1994 (at my parents house when I no longer lived there). I sent them a letter disputing the debt as it had never been on my credit report and I had never been notified of it before. I also copied the letter to the Texas and Illinois attorney general (my state and theirs). I just today received another letter stating that my account has been placed with "Resurgent Capital Services LP." They also enclosed an "affidavit" that "verifies" my original debt. Also, the original acct. number is the same, but now the original creditor is listed as someone completely different. Both Merchants and Reusurgent state that they received this account from "LVNV Funding LLC." Beware....anyone else out there as tired of this as I am?

I just had a dealing with "Repugnant" also. They sent me a deal for a pre approved visa card! All i had to do was sign and give them my DOB,SS#,and tel#'s at home and work and they would be kind enough to transfer $5000 of an old non collectable past statute of limitations charged off debt to it! Wow , what a deal! I sent them a letter and told them where to go and how to get there and some other choice things, and took full advantage of the prepaid envelope. I mean really, how stupid do these jerks really think we are? Good luck with yours. Hammer those A**holes.
