I used to order books from them years ago. Then i found out they were sending me stuff i didnt order and charging me 50 dollars a shipment for them.

I cancelled my account with them since i had already met my agreement with them. This was in like 2004.

As of the beginning of this year i have started receiving more shipments of books from them that i DID NOT order! I sent all of the packages back with return to sender, did not order and cancel account written on the box. I got another one today so i decided enough was enough and called them.

I was told that i opened my account in 2006 and i had not met my agreement with them and they would not cancel my account till it was met. On top of that they sent me a bill for books that were returned that my husband accendently paid thinking it was legit without asking me about it. I only found this out cause when i called them the lady said "well your account is open and we even received a payment in May for one of the shipments" she then proceeded to me that she was not going to cancel my account and i was not going to be refunded for the returned shipment. She also stated that it would be in my best interest to fulfill my commit with them. I immediately asked for her supervisor before she dug herself further in the hole.

The Supervisor got on the phone and i explained everything to her again, and she said it would be "looked into" and to expect to hear from them within 14 days. She did not say my account woudl be cancelled or that i would receive a refund for the returned shipment.

If you are smart you will stay away from this company and all its other little companies. They are total ripoffs. Each shipments of books cost 50-60 dollars per shipment of 2-4 books. The bill that was paid on accident was for $55.

After im done here i will be reporting them to the BBB!

These books they are selling can be bought in book stores for half of what they are selling them for, especially if you go to used book stores.

Well lets see. Since i last posted this i have since received a letter from the book club asking me to return the books i paid for with a prepaid return label and they would refund my money. Sounds reasonable, BUT I have already returned them the day I got them and my husband paid a bill sent by the company on books i never kept!!! So, Im goign to attach the label to an EMPTY box with a letter inside saying that I never kept the books they were sent back the day i received them and to refund my money. Lets see how that goes over. I will let ya know!

I have recently found the REAL company behind all the sub companies affiliated with Rhapsody Book Club. The company and its address is below. Bertelsmann Direct North America, Inc. 1225 South Market St. Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 717-918-4120 This company owns all of the book clubs associated with Rhapsody, and Doubleday book clubs. I have also filed a report with the BBB regarding this company which is how i found out the real name. more to come if i hear back from then in the 14 days they promised.
