On April 10, 2004 I read a posting on www.ny.shootingpeople.org about a production assistant job opening for a video shoot. I responded to the listing, but never got a reply and assumed the position was filled. On Friday April 16 at aproxiamately 11:45 PM I got a call from Robert Brooks asking if I could work on the shoot the next morning. Stupidly I agreed and then found out that the call time was at 4:45 AM (not even 5 hours away).

After taking a $20 cab up to the Bronx I made the 4:45 AM call time, but no one was there. Drinking coffee, I waited around for another 30 minutes before any of the crew got there. Surprising the crew was very large and I thought this might actually be a professional shoot, I was sadly mistaken. We were told call time was no later than 9:00 PM, at least that's what we were told.

As the day slowly went by we were asked to do all of the stupid and unnecessary things that PA's are asked to do. Finally after the most unprofessional production I have ever been to we were sent home at 11:15 PM. Before leaving we were told that we would be paid within 2 weeks, that was 54 weeks ago.

I have spent the last year constantly emailing these people and getting the same answer: "Payment is coming soon". This is ridiculous that they think they can treat people like this. I fulfilled my side of the agreement, it is time for them to fulfill their side.

Understandable frustration on the part of the young PA.In an effort to provide work and opportunity to a large group of mostly inexperienced young people who wanted to work in the entertainment industry, the PA coordinator simply hired too many. There was a delay in paying all of them that worked their $50-$100 for the day, but everyone received their pay.
After 8 years, MOZELL has successfully accomplished many production, including film, television and music independently, and for major studios in Hollywood. Even taking on projects for the US Government and in 2013 is engaged in our third feature film for a major studio.
