My ex-husband and I were divorced on Sept 22,1989
He was ordered to pay child support at that time.
He did pay for a short lenght of time but then he stopped. At that time the Pontotoc child support office filed charges. Kathy McCoy was his worker. She liked this individual and refused to help me get my child supprt payments. I reported he and she got in trouble but was allowed to continue to work for Pontotoc DHS services.
I still did not recieve any help. I then check with an attorney in Aberdeen Ms but he failed to tell me that out of the 17,000.00 dollars that my ex owed the attorney was going to get at least 10,000.00 dollars of the money.
I tried to get help thru other attorney but it cost 1500.00 cash dollars. Let me tell you folks when you are a single parent making 6.00 hr you can not afford attorney fees.
I had no choice but to let it go. My children are 24 and 20 now and he still owes 17,000.00 dollars in back child support payments.
He was remarried on sept 29,1989and now owns his own bussiness but he has all of that in his wifes name and her parents name so he want have to pay his child support.
If there is ajything that you know that could help me obtain back support payments please let me know.
