Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Was extremely rude, told me it was all my fault and he wasn't going to help me, I deserved everything I got.

Truth is, he was representing Direct TV over a dispute of a final bill, because they did not shut off the service until a month after I requested it, and they want me to pay for that month.

He hung up on me, then proceeded to call and hang up, then I was told to call him back when I want to negotiate.

That isn't happening.  I don't want anything to do with that outfit and I also happen to think I am in the right and Direct TV is wrong, and the guy from Wood Law, has no idea what transpired or how Direct TV works.  They send you you the mailings for where you should return the equipment, and they did that, problme was, i made 2 calls, after I did not recieve anything and they would not give me an address to send the boxes back.

Understand that these are 2 separate issues, then do this

You need to understand that you have 2 entirely separate issues here, and you need to handle them separately. Your billing dispute needs to be handled with DirecTV, and your collections matter needs to be handled with the collector. The collector WILL NOT get involved in your billing dispute as they are NOT "customer service" for DirecTV.

If an outside collector/lawyer is involved, this is a VERY old issue that you ignored, and that is why it is where it is. The debt has been charged off which means it is at least 6 months past the first major delinquency. Ignoring these things never makes them go away.

Phone calls NEVER protect your rights under the law. STAY OFF THE PHONE!!

All disputes need to be IN WRITING and sent via USPS CERTIFIED MAIL/RRR only!

It appears that the debt collector is an attorney, so be sure to file a BAR ASSOCIATION complaint against him for the ethical violations.

By the means above, send a CEASE COMMUNICATIONS request as per your rights under federal law [FDCPA].

Also file a detailed complaint with FTC.gov, but understand that they will not act directly on your behalf.

STAY OFF THE PHONE!!!!!

If any collection agency treated me that way over the phone I would hang up on them . If they call back refuse to answer. If you have call block option were you can block a # from calling use it. If I had it on my line phone I would but I have it on my cell. I used it when a collection agency called looking for another person I told them they had the wrong # and who ever they were looking for does not have this # I was told that they would remove  my # from the computer they did not and called again and left a message I put a block on that #
