Ridgid Tools Home Depot They lied about lifetime warranty Internet
I bought a cordless power drill from Home Depot and was sold when they told me it had a lifetime warranty on the batteries. It was a great tool. I sent in the registration and they lost it. Now they refuse to stand behind their product. Their name is all over it. Home Depot played dumb and Ridgid thinks they are cleaver by saying it was not registered. I am not convinced they looked.
Both Home Depot and Ridgid lied. When I bought it I was told just bring the bad battery back to the store and they would give me a new one. When the time came they cheated. Do not buy this product and do not trust either company. Below is their response to my inquiry.

Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Although it is not an acceptable response it was better than Home Depot.
I am sorry to inform you I may never buy your products in the
future. I will also make it a point to post many bad comments about
your company on the internet.
I know you and your company feel I was fully informed I disagree and
feel you took the cheapest way out. So much for a lifetime warranty. I
know when I have been screwed and mislead. And will make it a point
share my experience with many people Sears is better and easier to work
with as they stand behind what they sell instead of paper work and
legalities.
You are in a position to avoid the warranty based on what you think
was a technicality. I believe I did register it. So I am in a position
to make sure I never buy your products again and make sure I publicly
tell my side of the story.
It is a shame as I did like the product but now I dislike the
vendor. I hope your sales decrease and you all loose your jobs to China.

From 2004-present, the items are required to be registered with a
copy of the receipt mailed to Ridgid within 90 days of the purchase
date. If not, the tools have only a 3 yr warranty with the receipt or by
the serial number on the tools. No exceptions will be made for those
that did not meet the 90 day requirement. The requirements are printed
on the warranty form in the box and the online registration form. If the
requirements are not met by the customer, the tools will not have the
lsa.

Hi,
I bought a R840011 drill from Home Depot. I have used it many times
with no issues. I bought it from Home Depot when they convinced me how
good the Warranty was and that it had the Lifetime battery Warranty. It
was a kit with two batteries and a power screw driver. I have been very
happy until now. The SN is G0646 378630
Home Depot does not want to replace the battery since they said it
should have some kind of sticker on it. Why did both companies sell me
improperly marked product? Now the 2nd battery has gone bad rendering
your product useless. both 18 volt batteries are dead.
Why did they lie to me?
They can have the old batteries. I just want proper coverage based on what I was told at purchase.
Why would I by new batteries or another one of your products if the Warranties are not bonafide?
