I purchased a 200.00 drill with a life time warrenty. I registred the tool with Ridgid. I kept all reciepts from the sale. I had it serviced 3 times on the warrenty. I took the drill in last week to their service center for new batteries and was refused warrenty on it. WHY. The serial ## on the drill were rubbed off. Nothing else on the tab was missing. They will not warrenty it without the serial ##. I ask for my registered ##. They changed to new computers and mine were lost. I gave them my model ## from my 14.4 volt drill. They said the ## matched an 18 volt drill, NO warrenty. Again I ask for them to honor my drill warrenty. They ask if I had any paperwork on the 3 repaires from THEIR service center. They never gave me any paperwork and they didn't have any on file. NO warrenty. I talked to the warrenty center again and was told I would get a call back from the supervisor because they were out to lunch. NO call back.
I did all I was supposed to do to have a life time warrenty on my tool. I feel there service enters and their warrenty center are negligent in their duties. (incompetent) They have stupid expletive excuses. They do their best NOT to honor their warrenty. I think they do their best not to have return customers. They lost my business and other contractors I know. I'll make sure of that. Ridgid is a great tool, but the company employees in the warrenty department are not.
