Arlene Ready claims to be "just an employee?"
"I am not an operating owner of Ristuccia Arena. I am just an employee."
Hmmm, so being just an employee wouldn't give you any authority regarding what happens in the rink and who uses the ice? Would that be correct Arlene?

The rules for rebuttal require no false statements. I wish that rule was honored for the accusation. I am not an operating owner of Ristuccia Arena. I am just an employee. I do not set rates nor do I have control over rates for ice skating at Ristuccia Arena. I'm the person who mails the contracts and the bills for Ristuccia Arena. I don't collect the money. I don't even work at the facility. I telecommute from 70 miles away. I can't see the ice surface nor am I aware of problems with it unless it involves cancellation or credits. The IRS knows about every penny I make. If anyone googles my name, those terrible statements appear. Isn't slander still illegal?

In reponse to Blah-blah....Ristuccia Memorial Arena was re-surfacing the ice over a one-week period during the month of May due to compressor issues which was beyond the control of the persons listed. The ice was not purposely shaven down, as insinuated by the complaintant. Fortunately, we were still able to run our learn to skate program without incident. It was, however, necessary for figure skaters to skate on a less than perfect ice surface. This is not unusual for any skater to endure. In fact, this happens more frequently at other ice facilities. The complaintant should have mentioned her/his experiences at other facilities including roofs that were caving in. Ice costs are expensive everywhere and we cannot vouch that this is the most expensive rink around. We are a non-profit based organization and are charged non-profit rates for ice time. Our rates to our learn to skate participants are proportionate to other learn to skate programs in the area. Bob Rotondo has been extremely patient and considerate of our financial difficulties and has been more than willing to work with us to facilitate and keep a program alive in the Wilmington area. Arlene Reidy and Wilmington Arena Authority, Inc. has graciously made donations for our ice shows and reduced our test session ice costs. For someone to make false accusations in such a public forum for a one-time incident is incredibly petty. Unfortunately, people tend to make minor issues into personal vendettas, instead of looking at the overall broader picture. We can attest that the facility and ice surface is normally kept in pristine condition. Wilmington Figure Skating Club has been skating at the Ristuccia Memorial Arena since it's existence and has no intentions on going elsewhere. The Bruins skate there, why shouldn't anyone?
