Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After paying premium pricing for sets of pictures, I would expect premium quality. DO NOT expect it at Ritz Cameras. In fact they flat out lied to me about being able to adjust pictures and then told me once I picked them up they don't do that.

SAVE YOUR MONEY and get your pics developed elsewhere, WALMART develops better pictures and at a tenth of the price. Their customer service guys need a break. They obviously hate their jobs and take it out on the customers. The guy went as far as to tell me I was a bad photographer. I didn't take the pics but that was certainly rude.

They are going to lose big business for not refunding me the bad pics or even offering to redo them.

We do color corrections We do density corrections We can even flip/rotate/resize/ and crop We can not, however, work miracles. I'm sorry you were disappointed with the end result, but you don't know if all was done or not to fix your photos. Also- if walmart is so much better- why does my store get hundreds and hundreds of reprint work from film developed at walmart/ walgreens/ CVS/ and Target? We must be doing something right.

I worked for Ritz camera for years.I was the Lab Manager and printed thousands of photos over the years. One thing that was always taught to all employees from day one was to color correct the photos. Also to make density and various other corrections as well.As manager,I was sent to other stores to fill in or train as needed, and they all followed the same practice.I even transferred to another state and worked at several of their stores, and they all corrected the pics as well. sometimes customers do not understand that certain film, lighting, quality of camera, camera settings, and hundreds of other factors can determine the quality of their pics.and yes sometimes it is the customers fault the pictures do not look good. The technician can only do so much with the technology the have.If a picture is taken badly to begin with, you cannot just magically make it perfect.A lot of customers just like to complain, and thats what it sounds like you are doing. The employees do not "hate their jobs"they're just sick of idiots yelling at them for something that is not their fault.you did not even mention what was "wrong with your pics",but i bet it was the fault of whoever took the pictures. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of bad things about Ritz as a whole. But I will say their processing really is above average.I have dealt with so many "picky "customers while working there that I just had to reply. Most people are just looking for free stuff, so they complain.Get a life people like you are why i quit that job.

Sorry you had a bad experience

Dear Brian: I am sorry you had a bad experience at a Ritz Camera store. As a Ritz employee, I pride myself on the quality of my store's product and our customer service. Our lab techs are the best in the business and can make adjustments to your photos within the scope of a one hour photo lab. This mainly means that adjustments are made to the photo as a whole as opposed to working select portions of a photo. For example, we can brighten up those shadowed areas, but other areas might get blown out by it. A professional lab, with professional prices, would be required to do more selective adjustments. There are also photos that just can't be helped because they are so poorly exposed. All the adjustments in the world won't produce a good photo. This can be caused by several factors, including a lack of skill on the part of the photographer. I am sorry if this wasn't more delicately communicated, but there are customers who will blame everything and everyone else but themselves. It sounds like you knew ahead of time that your pictures were going to be a problem. It sounds like they had more problems than a one hour lab could handle. I don't think that constitutes a ripoff or dishonesty. Customer service is going to vary by the person delivering it and by the person receiving it. Not everyone delivers good service, but there are customers that just can't be pleased and dealing with those customers is a very difficult part of the job. We will gladly redo photographs when we make mistakes... and we do make mistakes. We are human and different people print differently. From your description, however, it is possible that redoing them wouldn't have improved them. WALMART has good prices... but I wasn't aware that they would print a single roll of 24 pictures for 80 cents (a tenth of our price). Maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration.
