On the 4th August this year I purchased on Ebay what I thought was a bargain of a lifetime a 4.5 inch Astronomical Telescope. I elected to pay by bank transfer and was glad that River Trade or Aus River had a bank account with the same bank as I. This would speed up the transfer. I was promised shipment one day after the money was received into the vendor's bank account. It is interesting to note, that my bank informed me the money was transfered to the vendor's account the same day.
After numerous emails and Red River's claims they could not find my money in their bank account I finally got my product on the 16th August. By this time it had missed the Birthday of the child for whom it was intended. When the product was assembled, being an Astronomical reflector Telescope, the sighting scope was faulty and not as described in the telescope user guide. The tripod has cheap bolts and wing nuts which I had to replace to enable it to be strong enough to hold the scope. The Drive Gears are rubbish and hard to stablize and in general the item is cheap Chinese rubbish. I have opened a dispute with Ebay about this but no, I am not going to go to the expense of mailing a 24kg item back to these people at my expense. Be careful do not deal with this company as they are Shysters and do not care about customer satisfaction.
