Geez, all that education you say you have, and no common sense. No wonder this country got in such deep trouble over the last few years... MBA haha, how you guys find your way home or dress yourself amazes me! Since your shortman syndrome made you want to get personal, allow me to give you some of my background...
Im a millionaire, thanks to suckers like you. I probably have 20 cars give or take, some close to 30yrs old, as you stated, some more, some fairly new. Most worth more than your house, and you. And yet, I cant recall ever spending even 500 dollars on a repair. How does that make you feel? You seem to think this country is "Controlled by money" as you stated earlier, but let me clarify, its ran by energy, and yours is weak.
You stated you like to take advantage of people who are in debt, but yet you whine like a lil baby when you feel taken advantage of? You seem to endorse our system, yet you bawl when you dont get your way, on here, the ripoff report! And yet you were going to give them a "second chance"??? Your either a glutton for punishment, or a complete idiot. How many more "ripoff" reports would you have filed if the shop would have let you in its door a second time??? I seriously pondered whether I would let a person like you into my shop, and it was some good conversation between me and my wife, who thinks your a real sissy. Anyways in the past I think I wouldve, because it would have been some ez money, but now that ive got mine I see no real need to deal with your type anymore, just let the other boys have their fun.
Hey look on the bright side, you couldve bought a brand new toyota, instead of your 30yr old vette. Then you couldve crashed into a wall, and you wouldnt have shelled out thousands for a radiator flush, (but maybe an engine flush) and maybe we wouldnt have to listen to your endless hate directed toward a company for what a dealer "did to you".
You brag about your education, from I assume, the university of Kensucky. I must tell you that a phd from that state is like an elementary education anywhere else. Yeah, alot of Einsteins from that state. Keep on driveling and prove me right.
P.S. Sorry to tell you im younger than you and everything still works great, including my cars. Just ask my wife and many other ladies over the years who knew where to come to get a real man and some real service...
Im sorry your disabled, but I tend to think its more in the head...

Shaun, sorry to tell you my home is paid off, free & clear. I also earned a master's degree in business at age 23, Nearly two full years ahead of schedule.with a thesis based on the economical theories of american business & economic flow. btw, do you realize how snide & ridiculous your comments are ? Go catch some Gator for your dinner & mind your own business. I didn't ask for your comments, so keep them to yourself. As I said my handicap & time constraints stopped me from doing the repairs, nothing more. Also, unlike you I can't spend every minute nosing into other peoples' lives. Unless you are employed by this dealer, ( you sound as if you are)this is none of your business.

Well your comments just proved what I previously presumed, your just a lil bicchboy who cries when he dont get his way...All I did was offer some help, and your "shortman" complex took over... Again, if your sooo smart, why did you let yourself get conned by the "flush ad" sent out to you in the mail in the firstplace??? Such a smart guy like you with your money and even having "25" years in the car business? Shelling out over 2000 dollars for something a car doesnt even need? You dont need a car payment just keep paying dealers to do unnecessary things to your 30 yr old car. Hey ive got some nice property to sell you, interested???

Shawn, As to your earlier comment, I keep my car in Excellent working order, always. It is barely 10 years old. I don't know where you got the idea it was 30. Perhaps yours is ? As far as neglecting it as you suggested I may have, I assure you that is not the case. THE FLUSH WAS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEALER. They sent me an ad in the mail after an oil change, and I fell for it. My mistake there. Just another way for them to pad a bill. But I assure you, I am no whiner. My complaint is very legitimate, and these guys are as underhanded as it gets. May be my mistake, but I believe this site is for consumers to HELP ONE ANOTHER. If you believe otherwise, DON'T COMMENT TO ME ANYMORE. BTW, I've been around the used car business for nearly 25 years now, and I know more than most any other consumer, and many dealers. The only reason I don't do my own work is a physical handicap that prevents it . As far as knowledge of cars goes though, I know more than most. My claims here are ABSOLUTELY LEGITIMATE.

Shaun, can you not count ? The car is far from 30 years old. Barely half that. You MUST be a dealer, or otherwise employed by GM. It takes one snake to defend another. These people are rip off artists, and if consumers don't stand up to them, who will ? I suppose if I'm not willing to spend 50 GRAND on a new Corvette, I must be in the wrong, huh ? I bet you're one of those people who doesn't have enough sense to stay out of debt, huh ? Do you even own your home yet ? Guess what ? I own mine, mortgage free !!! No car payment, either !!! My daily driver is less than 1 year old & fewer than 10k miles on it. Bought as a repo for CASH !! My money stays in the bank drawing interest while you pay to borrow it. I am 40 years old, own my home, and have nearly $500 K solid cash in various CD's and other investments. People like you aren't worth my breath. Screw you & GM. btw, When your home gets repossessed , It'll be someone like me at the auction buying it out from under you. I'm anything but a whiner. I just won't allow myself to be screwed over, and I accept one simple truth about this world : MONEY CONTROLS ALL ! I'm not going to accept being robbed. If you're willing to let a retailer screw you, that's your business. Stay the hell out of mine.

Its too bad you had a "bad experience" with your 30yr old vette. Im not saying your story is or isnt true, im just offering some suggestions for you. First of all, If you would drain your antifreeze and refill it within the recommended intervals of the manufacturer or antifreeze maker, you probably would never even need a flush.
All you should need is a bucket and a screwdriver if you can work one. Next quit blaming gm for your troubles, if you would change your antifreeze more than once in 30yrs maybe you wont get leaks. Seems gm should get credit for building a quality car instead of getting whipped on by whiney "girly men" when they have a small problem and get "ripped off" by a LOCAL dealership. Again, I cant say if you got ripped off or overcharged or not, I once got pissed at this dealership myself when they charged me 40 bux for "checking a noise" while I had the vehicle in there for some general recall work. They made me think this would be free since all they had to do was put their ear to the car while it was in there anyway being serviced and the guy at the local oreillys already told me where the noise was coming from anyway. I though that was kindof shady. But not all their employees are bad. And your BBB story could be true, but Ive usually had good luck with them. But again quit acting like your the only one who ever got ripped off with their automobile and wishing bad things on the company who made your 30yr old car. Keep the blame local, seems like Lexington is a good place to get ripped off on lots of things from my experience. I usually go elsewhere when I get a chance. Also dont waste your time on "oil flushs" either, unless you never change your oil in years. Just flush your toilet, and do yourself a favor.

Hi Karl. This wasn't a warranty repair. With their attitude , I doubt that would have made much difference anyhow. It all began as a simple radiator flush that their "certified mechanics" made a complete mess of. Idiot kid put the system under too much pressure, and blew my radiator and water pump both. As I said previously, the dealership's inept work caused me to return the car THREE TIMES for that problem alone. Their solution was to put discount aftermarket parts (from autozone or the like )on my corvette, without my consent, trying to pass this off as "Goodwill" . Goodwill, my butt. If so , what is a ripoff in their eyes ? I researched the prices , which turned out to be less than half of their charges to me. If I wanted that done to my car, I could've done the job myself, and avoided Hatfield's entire scam. They charged me as if the parts were factory (nearly 3 Times their actual cost), stating at the BBB arbitration " it's just an old car, what's the difference ?" Well, that "old car" as their service manager put it, means quite a bit to me, no matter what they think. Goodwill, indeed. Not everyone can afford, nor is stupid enough , to buy a new corvette for $50k to $60k. As I said in my previous update, I thankfully found a private corvette restoration mechanic who I feel far more comfortable with. 30 plus years of experience with Vettes alone, and a good honest small business. The type of person we should all support, you know ? I will end by re iterating my original point ..Stay away from Rod Hatfield chevrolet in lexington, kentucky, and GM entirely if possible. They actually used my reports on here against me in the BBB arbitration, which was a scam in itself. As if I have no right to speak up against them, the mighty GM. The BBB talked me into that arbitration. You see, they knew I'd win if we went to court, and the BBB ran interference for the dealership, nothing more. Plain and simple. As far as the latest experience, as I said before , what kind of a supposed business manager carries a grudge against a paying customer for two years ? For this alone, I can't wait for Hatfield's , all of GM , for that matter, to go under for good. I want my tax money back that went to them . All of america should.

If it wasn't and after you had the first problem with that dealership you should have gone to a trusted mechanic. They are easy to find. Just ask friends. You are also not in the North Woods. There are other Chevrolet dealers in the vicinity at least within 50 miles or so. I would contact other Corvette owners for advice (I'm sure that there is a Corvette club) and take your car to an independent mechanic.

Hi Jim. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I was originally going to sue, but the BBB actually talked me into arbitration, and out of taking these snakes to court. It was my own foolishness to think they would be honest. They ran interference. A smokescreen for Hatfield's underhanded practices, nothing more. Plain and simple. As far as the radiator flush goes, my car NEVER leaked before I had it done. Hatfield's blew the water pump, as well as the radiator. Too much pressure on it by an inexperienced kid they probably pay $8 an hour, only to charge me nearly $1600. Nearly three times the actual cost of the parts. They then scammed me by using cheap, aftermarket parts to replace the ones they destroyed, charging me for factory parts. I tell you, and any other consumer who reads this, stay away from this place. For that matter , stay away from GM entirely. Spread the word about these crooks. When I think that OUR AMERICAN TAX MONEY went to keep the crooks at GM afloat, my blood boils. They can't go out of business quickly enough to suit me. btw, the service manager said he read my report here on RIP OFF , and used that as the excuse not to service my car the other day. As if I had no right to speak against them. I implore anyone who believes in honesty & freedom of speech to boycott this dealership from now on.

First a question...
How do you know too much pressure was used to do the flush? Its a little too late, but if you would have had your own choice of mechanic make that determination and then be willing to testify in small claims court, this might be a different matter.
However, you were ABSOLUTELY CORRECT regarding the BBB. The BBB is a scam. See that BBB? I said it, now you come to this site and rebut me! THE BBB IS A SCAM!!!!! Hatfield BOUGHT and PAID FOR their PHONEY A+ accreditation rating. Am I saying the BBB sells these PHONEY ACCREDITATIONS to anyone who wants to buy one? I certainly am! Come on BBB tell me just how wrong I am. You don't have the damned guts! Slimeball car dealers know that and they also know the average consumer has swallowed hook, line and sinker all the crap the BBB says. Therefore the slimeball car dealer will BUY their membership and BUY their "accreditation". The BBB is no different than some off-shore boiler room operation selling phoney college degrees. At the SHAM "mediation" the "mediator is PAID BY THE BBB! The slimeball car dealer is the BBB customer, (providing the BBB with income from buying a phoney accreditation). So then, since the "mediator" is PAID by the BBB, do you actually think the BBB PAID MEDIATOR is going to decide against a BBB CUSTOMER of PHONEY ACCREDITATIONS?
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do now. But I urge you to run it by an attorney who is familiar with going up against SLIMEBALL CAR DEALERS.
You have done a remarkable service to all readers. Continue to spread the word about the "customer service" you've received and inform anybody you know what the BBB is all about. Check out the BBB section of this website or just do a web search for the BBB and you'll see example after example after example of the FRAUD and DECEPTION purpetrated on the American public by the CONGAME calling itself the BBB!

As I write this, it's been approx. TWO YEARS since the above described incident took place. Unfortunately for me, though , the other Chevy dealer in my city was closed down by G.M., & my car recently broke down. I was basically forced to call hatfield's service department saturday & make an appointment for 8 A M today, monday. The manager on duty saturday gladly accepted the appointment. However, when I arrived this morning, the on duty manager was the same guy who caused my previous trouble. He refused to service the car, & behaved like a grounded teenager when I showed up for my already scheduled appointment, telling me to leave. It seems he's still upset because I caught him trying to CHEAT ME last time & called him on it, here on rip off report.com. Employees like this are the reason OUR TAX MONEY ( Yours, mine, and every American's ) had to be used to rescue G M in the first place. After this, I hope they go out of business. This guy is a supposedly grown adult managing a business. What kind of a business manager holds a grudge against a paying customer for two years ? All because I caught him cheating me ! Read & remember my previous entry, folks. This problem was caused by them from the beginning. I was simply offering them a second chance today. They don't seem to need customers.... Mark my words , folks. Stay away from Rod Hatfield Chevrolet service department !!

After all the trouble I've outlined above, I went to the BBB for help. They took us to arbitration, where Hatfield's lying, thieving service manager lied about the situation. Needless to say, the lies they told got them a ruling in their favor. Three times in the service department, two times being towed in, and they put cheap , aftermarket parts on my CORVETTE without my consent or knowledge. After all that mess, they walk away scot - free. This has convinced me that this horrid company is worthless. Apparently , the BBB is their LAP DOG, as well. These thieves think they are above the law,( This means you, so called "service manager" ) and the BBB has helped THEM perpetrate a crime here !! I can't wait until G.M. goes under. Stay away from these CROOKS !! btw, I should mention that their service manager brought a copy of the Rip Off Reports I filed against them to the meeting, acting as if I had no right to speak against them !!! You'll REGRET it if you do business with Rod Hatfield Chevrolet located in lexington, kentucky.

It's now been several months since this nightmare began. June 2008 through May 2009 !! I've still gotten no resolution from these crooks. How can people like this sleep at night ? Their general manager , Vince, seems to be the one facilitating their lies. He has now lied to everyone , from the BBB, to my credit card company. He KNOWS the parts he put on my car aren't factory, yet still expects me to pay. When I first contacted them about this, the dealership promised me they'd resolve by NOON the next day. I never heard anything from them. That was last JULY. It is now MAY, nearly a year later, and their lies continue. GM was NO HELP. Even American Express , who is supposedly representing me, has not helped much. Those good folks behaved as if they were looking out for the dealership, not me, the consumer. I suppose Corporate Crooks of a feather Flock Together. I am talking to an attorney in a few days. Maybe going to court will awaken their honesty. Nothing else has.
