Complaint Review: Roi.com.au - Surrey Hills Internet

Before I dive into the disgraceful behaviour of the Roi Team, let me give you some background on the actual events. I had an ecommerce site designed and develop by a fantastic Brisbane based company, who then suggested I market my newly designed website online via search engine optimisation (SEO) and Google Adwords. I believed these to be words of wisdom at the time and they lead me to Roi.com.au. I made an enquiry, received a phone call and was given the royal sales treatment. I agreed to their contract and started paying their high monthly fees. I presumed the more I pay, the better results I would receive (how wrong was I).

At the start of my seo program, I was given an account manager who I gave extensive details to on my goals and objectives etc. Within 3 weeks my current account manager was replaced with a new one, who asked me all the same questions again. My first account manager even gave me fair warning that things in the Roi camp were not all that they seemed, so they were jumping ship. As you can imagine, this made me very nervous considering the amount of money I was paying each month.

I then found out that the Roi Team partially broke my website, whilst performing seo on my site. The issues prevented my website from processing customer orders, which then resulted in a decent amount of business lossed. All these issues were in the first month and there is still more to come.

It’s now 3 months into the campaign and I’m yet to see results. My account manager requests I be patient and gives me a range of pathetic excuses to why my site isn’t ranking. I was gullible at the time and believed every single lie Roi staff gave me. Let me just say, they are happy to take my money each month without hesitation.

5 months into the campaign and once again I am given a new account manager who has no idea about my account. They then feed me more lies to why my site is not ranking on Google. I respond with the following “I pay Roi every single month without delay and in return I was promised traffic and page 1 results. You’re quite happy to take my money, so why don’t you deliver on your promises”, there response “we have identified the problem and we will work to resolve it”.

Month 6 arrives and to date I’ve spent thousands of dollars filling the pockets of Roi management. No results and 3 account managers later, as you can imagine I’m livid. For a small business like me, thousands of dollars is a huge chuck of my life savings. I ask for a partial refund, due to poor results and they flat out refuse. They present me with their “terms” and politely tell me I’m screwed.

The behaviour of the Roi team (in particular the management) is beyond disgraceful. They’re so money hungry, I hate to think how many other small businesses have been taken for a ride. They promise the world and completely under deliver. The prices they charged for the pathetic results they deliver, is an absolute disgrace. My complaints were falling on deaf ears, so luckily I came across this site on a forum. Australia needs a Ripoff Report to deal with companies like Roi.com. They’re motto “We Put Your Business First” should be changed to “We Take Your Money First”.
