Room Store ripoff Faulty merchandise, predatory lending From day one my experience with this store was unpleasant. San Antonio Texas
From day one my experience with this store was unpleasant. The furniture was damaged upon delivery. Even though they repaired the furniture (poor finish quality)it was not repaired well. The store refused to repair the flaws again. I advised the store(both in writing and verbally)if they did not repair their error they would not receive payment.
The store procrastinated the situation for 3 years refusing to do anything. One employee threatened to falsify the incident report of the repair complaint simply to releive the company of it's responsibility. After the employee's threat was carried out any degree of cooperation from the company ceased.
At this point the company started a most agressive collection campaign to collect this disputed debt. At every point the colllection department refused to adress the dispute. They used phrases such as "this is not my problem" and "too bad you still have to pay this". The debt had doubled during their collection process.
Bottom line I would recomend to anyone that they use plastic lawn furniture rather than purchase ANY product from the roomstore. I have never heared a positive experience about theese "people" They are a ripoff and should be put out of buisness and if they continue their current buisiness practices it will happen eventually.
