Rooms To Go ForceField Fabric Protection Warranty- Complete Scam!!! Tampa, Florida
On July 24, 2009 I purchased new sofa, chaise, ottoman and rocking chair from Rooms To Go, order. My sales man recommended I have my new furniture pre-treated with Rooms To Go ForceField Fabric Protection which would cover my furniture from ANY stains within the next three years. He provided me with cleaner and stated if the cleaner didn't remove the stains, I would be able to call Rooms to Go customer service to have a tech come out and try to clean the areas. I was told if the areas were not cleanable, my furniture would be replaced.
I have a small child and he has spilled different juices and food on the furniture, which at the time I thought no big deal I'm covered. I have tried several different times to use the spot cleaner provided as well as had the furniture steam cleaned. The stains would not come out.
At the beginning of May 2011, I called Rooms to go to have a tech come out and clean my furniture. He came and was unable to remove the spots. On June 3rd, 2011 a second tech came out to try to remove stains and was unsucessful.
Rooms To Go is now saying because I have more than ONE spot my warranty doesn't cover it and at my own expense I will need to have it professionally cleaned. They are not standing behind their product or their warranty.
The warranty clearly states: In the event that the stain becomes permanent from normal food and beverage SPILLS and the special cleaner provided at the time of sale does not remove the stain: under the terms of this limited warranty, Rooms To Go, at its discretion, will provide the following services. 1) Have the stained area cleaned and surfaces re-treated by an authorized Rooms To Go technician at no cost to the original owner. 2) If stain con not be removed by the Rooms To Go technician, we will reupholster the stained area, 3) If step 1 or 2 cannot be accomplished, at Rooms To Go's discretion, the stained piece will be replaced or the owner may select a new piece of furniture equal in value and quality to the original.
No where in this warranty does it state that if the tech can't get the stain out, I would have to pay even more money to have it professionally cleaned and then re-treated with their worthless product. If the product had worked as explained by the rep in the first place, I wouldn't have to have it professionally cleaned.
The company is not standing behind their products by making customers like myself jump through hoops to be able to use the warranty that was purchased. If I would need to have my products professionally cleaned anyway, there is no way I would have paid the additional monies for each piece to have the ForceField protection plan.
