I am writing in regard to a dispute that I am currently having with Trip2Earth.com. I booked a room for 2 nights December 11-13 with the stipulation that we must attend a time share showing to receive the special room rate offered.
Because of our work situation it is very much in doubt that we will be able to use this room and I called the number on the paperwork to ask if there was any way to cancel this without the $200 penalty associated with a no-show. I spoke to a person named Terri. After being informed that the only way to alter this reservation without penalty was that we would have to book different dates. Because this was not an option the conversation ended.
Later that same day I received an e-mail informing me that my reservation had been canceled and that we would be charged the penalty. I never requested the cancellation and feel that this was done in error or that there was a miscommunication. I then sent an e-mail and called to make sure that this reservation was not canceled in case we would be able to make the trip and that the fee not be applied until after the date in question if the trip was not taken. On the phone I was told that I did indeed request cancellation. This is patently untrue.
My husband then called Rooms101 to discuss the situation and see if we could have the room reinstated on these dates at no extra charge. Initially they would not take the call, so he then called them from his cell phone. After finally being connected Terri told him that this could be done for a fee of $35. He made it very clear to her that he would pay the $200 fee and be done with the whole mess, but he said to her, "DO NOT MAKE NEW RESERVATIONS". He asked her 3 times to verify this and she asked him if he was playing games with her. He said no, and that he wanted to be sure that he would not be charged another cancellation fee or the $35 dollar re-book fee. Terri also informed him of our conversation and of things that I said that were untrue. She told him that she had proof and that it was all recorded. So, if it is recorded I ask that you obtain a copy and you will see that I never requested that she cancel our reservation in the first place. You will also hear the unprofessional manner in which this situation was handeled.
After dealing with this company, or at least this employee I feel that they are misleading and corrupt, to say the least. I just received an e-mail for payment of the $35 which shows that she lied again and put the other charge through even though she said that it wouldn't happen. I am requesting a full refund. I feel that this situation was grossly mishandled.

If you used a CREDIT card (not a debit card) then file a dispute of charges with the card issuer. Credit cards usually give you a longer period (6 months) to do this then debit cards do (about 30 days). Your credit card issuer will walk you thru the process.
