Route 15 Marketing, L.L.C. Internet Carvinhistory.com I WAS CHARGED FOR SERVICES I NEVER RECEIVED AND WAS MISLEAD BY THE FALSE ADVERTISING Salt Lake, Utah
I was trying to locate a certain vehicle and I came across the advertisement to locate any vehicle by its vin number for $2.95. I opened the web site and it was as it said, for $2.95 they would locate any vehicle by its vin number for $2.95. I filled out the information, my name and phone number, and vin number and paid the fee and sent in the request. In about an hour I received an email back, stateing that the vehicle that I requesterd could not be located, no reason was given, however I would not be charged because they (carvinhistory.com) did not locate the vehicle I requested. So I thought that was the end to that situation. But a few days later on my credit card bill, there is a charge for $ 2.95 and also a charge for $29.95. I tried to call this company, and never could get through to them, I tried for several times and over a period for a few days with the same results, recordings of various diversions. I then began to do research on this company and found that I was one of many who had fallen victim to their scam. It seems that this is their way of doing business. I also found out that the continue charging you $29.95 a month on a continueing basis. I was never told about the monthly charge, I was never instructed that I could cancel an account , because there was never an account to begin with. I did however see an agreement that you the customer are to sign or acknowledge by researching this matter, it was posted by another rip-off individual. I never saw an agreement or agreeded to anything except the one time charge of $2.95
Through this rip-off site, I did manage to get the correct phone number of carvinhistory. I did get through to speak to a man after several tries. I explained to him my situation and he became very rude and disrespectful and his remark to me was (we have to make a living also) and he hung up. I never did get his name or title. I have taken other steps to recoved my losses, and I have not ruled out by force if needed.
