TrueCar prices scammers. This dealership quoted a TrueCar price for a 2016 Nissan Versa of $8343.00. I am well aware of how TrueCar works because I have purchased 2 other vehicle using TrueCar. I am aware that you have to qualify for discounts. The discounts listed were $3911 Certified TrueCar dealer MSRP discount as well as Nissan Versa $1000 rebate. Anyone would qualify for these rebates. I called prior to going to dealer to confirm dealer stock as well as TrueCar price. I asked 3 times on the phone not to waste my time if they were not going to honor price or did not have vehicle. I was assured they would honor price and vehicle was in stock. Upon my arrival at dealer, I was told vehicle was in Edison dealership but the had other vehicles in stock (which cost more.). When I stated I would wait for Edison vehicle and would do the paperwork to purchase as per TrueCar price, I was told I did not qualify for part of $4911 discount. Like I said earlier there were no stipulations to qualifying for listed TruCar discount. When I asked sales manager to please show me why I did not qualify for advertised discounts he proceeded to read me terms that quoted price does not include tax,title and reg. I knew that already and again asked to tell me why I did not qualify for discounts. Once they realized I was playing their game, manager told me there was no way he could sell me car for $8343.00 as to which I responded when you get yourself together give me a call. 2 hours of my wasted time. Be aware before you go in, they play games and lie.
Update: On 7/13/16 I was contacted by Route 46 Nissan regarding this review. They told me they could make the deal happen and it did not happen when I was in showroom because they did not have TrueCar certificate. That is not true. I emailed the salesperson the certificate while in the showroom. They must not think people save emails. Upon pointing that out, I was told they needed to find the car and get back to me when they have it. Mind you the car is in their sister dealership in Edison NJ. I'm still waiting for the callback although I am not holding my breath.
